Former reserve team goalkeeper in 1973/74. Is now goalkeeping coach for Folkestone Invicta in the Bostik League.

He's been there for years - doing everything! Goalkeeping coach, youth team coach, reserve team manager and even groundsman! I believe he played a game in goal when he was in his forties and also appeared for them as an outfield player. He was also a police officer for 30 years. A Folkestone legend!!

I remember them well. He didn't concede a goal in his first two games then during a night game against Reading he came out to collect a long hoof forward ... and misjudged the bounce completely! The ball sailed over his head and a Reading striker raced past him and nodded the ball over the bar of a gaping goal!!

It was a Saturday but I'm sure you're absolutely right about many walking out at half-time. We didn't even have a manager that day to give a half-time pep talk - Mike Everitt went scouting instead of watching and Brentford didn't stretch to assistants in those days!
