Gianluca Vialli RIP
I remember watching him on Football Italia and going into the playground the next day and both pretending to be him, but also telling friends that I had 'unearthed' a really good player that should come and play in England. I was so smug when Chelsea signed him. Seems like a great bloke all round and should take a fair chunk of the credit for transforming Chelsea into the club they are today. (Younger) people forget they were an incredibly average side until not too long ago and Vialli was one of the sparks of that revolution.

A top bloke, remember him having a fag on the bench at Chelsea before a game. Gutted.

Gianluca Vialli RIP
Friends played in the same golf society as him at Mill Ride when he played and managed at Chelsea. He was by all accounts an incredibly friendly, engaging, funny man who enjoyed life and had time for everyone.
He was born into serious money but was happiest when playing or talking about sport with anyone else who wanted to do the same.
Lived life to the full before his illness and loved a smoke and a fine wine and was always great company.
RIP Luca

How very sad. I really liked Vialli. He seemed a genuinely humble and nice man. Great player too.

He used to play regularly with Zola at Royal Mid-Surrey. A true gentleman and a very fine golfer.
I used to love it when he left games on the back of a scooter when he managed Chelsea.

One of football’s good people. Gave Chelsea their history. Sad loss. RIP Count Luca Vialli.

He always came across as a decent bloke, and its nice to hear that was generally the case. Not a bad player, either - one of those earlier European signings that paved the way for the EPL being what it is today.

One of the great quotes attributed to him and so true, " You never lose, you either win or you learn". Such an intelligent guy.
