Talented but not sure he’s shown enough to warrant the kind of transfer fee Ipswich will want. Could find better for cheaper

I like the look of him but his attacking stats are dog sh*t:

not the worst suggestion, but might bakayoko interest be revisited if (hate the thought) our bryan departs?

No. Good young player, would be a decent squad option, but this is a bloke with 25 goal contributions we’re talking about replacing.
But we're not going to spend £50m on that are we? We have to invest on a young player who can hit the ground running. We dont have anyone in the squad who can fill his role, we have to buy established enough to start straight in the prem

But saying we're not going to spend mega bucks and we have to buy established enough to start is kind of a juxtaposition.

It'll be very interesting to see how the club addresses Bryan's departure should we go. Stick with shrewd youthful investment on spend big on a current talent and potential superstar, both categories Hutchinson doesn't really fit into.

Fair enough. But I feel he’s good enough and will only get better

Lots of talent but he only shows up in small flashes

On the train back to Liverpool Street. Sensible conversation with some tractor boys. Saying he’s been their best player over the season. More consistent than Delap.
Our point was that Delap will
Probabaly play better amongst better players.
it’s a no from me. There is better value out there.

When it comes to Delap, I do sympathise a bit.

Yes he signed a five year deal last summer, but they paid up to £20m with a £30m release clause. For a player in his early 20s, double figures in his first Prem season, it's hard not to think that'll be a bargain for whoever gets him.

May not have come if there wasn't a 'get out' option though. But still, despite the fiver year deal, I imagine the fans knew early on he won't be sticking around

And what’s your evidence he can hit the ground running? He’s got 3 goals and 2 assists this season. Nobody’s saying we’ll spent £50m on someone, but if we got £65m odd for Bryan we could probably do something around £30-40m for a replacement if the right player was available, as seen with Thiago and Ivan. We weren’t afraid to bid £40m odd for Johnson, Bakayoko and Gonzalez as right wing options 2 years ago…

Full of potential, imagine him playing for Brentford with better players around him than Morsey. If an option came up to sign him I'd suggest there could be worse ones.

GPG Transfer Suggestions (Single Thread)

Was sh*t at Brighton who are worse than us.
And as you said, a complete cheating c*nt.
No thanks.
Agree re Enciso but out of interest is there anyone that doesn’t play for Brentford that you do think is good?!

Several players.
Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, Mbappe, i have always thought Jack Harrison is a very good player stuck in useless teams

A list spanning sublime to ridiculous!

I didn’t notice him until the final 10+6 minutes when he made a few key passes and had a shot on target. He could be an energetic late sub, then.

We will agree to disagree. But he’s 21. Remember Bryan 5 years ago? He wasn’t as good as now. I think this guy could be a 80/90m player one day. But time will tell.

A striker at the age of 23 who has had a good season in the Bundesliga. Taking a look at his FBREF page, he ranks extremely highly compared to other strikers overall. This signing would likely be contingent on Wissa going as well a Bryan, otherwise the striker room would be too crowded. But it would be great to have a second striker option that is young and has had success in a top league, not to mention is 6'6 and would help in dominating the box offensively and defensively in set pieces.. Could also create a good relationship with Kevin as they are both German. No idea what the cost would be of course, and not our highest priority by any means.

We dont have a great time with German strikers called Nick

Just reading up on him, apparently Bayern Munich are interested in him and an asking price of €40m has been set. So he may already be out of our range.

We paid that for Thiago who’ll surely be central striker more often next season anyway?

Pity! That is a bit out of our range at the moment I think for a striker, overinvestment in a role where we already spent a lot. There is likely better value available, though I would love to see Thiago and Woltemade standing next to each other in the other team's box waiting for a set piece ball.

Watch this space he may not be BMs first target, hopefully they go elsewhere

I would've thought if Yoane leaves we'd look for someone that closely resembles the (tactical) intricacies of how he works in our current system.

We've got the robust and (I presume) aerially dominant forward in Thiago, just need the Wissa clone that allows us to revert to the way the current front 4 operate together.

Not sure how a big and physical forward like the one you mention would fit this brief btw.

Don't think that is necessarily true based on reports of what we were prepared to pay for Johnson and Gray last season, and he would potentially have a good added value upside. Never say never.

Don't forget Kevin also, jumps like a salmon:fishing:

I've watched him a few times this season and he really gives off Zlatan Ibrahimovic vibes. He’s such a unique player. I'm surprised no Premier League clubs are in for him. With his size and style of play, he seems tailor made for the EPL.

My concern is less with the price and more with the concentration of investment we would have at one position if we signed another pricy striker.

I wouldn't be too concerned, our management team appear to have got this aspect of investment spot on to date certainly whilst in the PL, with nothing to tell us this will not continue in future.

Tore Scotland a new one in the Nations League and has been impressive at Genk. Really exciting player

This is his first season as a starter for Genk and has done really well. Currently has 35mil release clause in his contract and it's likely that many clubs will be lining up for his signature this summer.

I doubt there’ll be many lining up to meet a 35M€ release clause.
