Graham Poll

Interesting story re. Poll and what he is alledged to have said to some Chelsea players as claimed by Ashley Cole. Anything Cole says i usually take with a pinch of salt but but also knowing what an ignorant and arrogant piece of sh*te Poll is there may well be something in it.

Having said that if Poll did say what he is alledged to have said then he's probably right for the first time in his life

Graham Poll

poor cashely cole even refs don't like the teams he plays for

Graham Poll

Interesting that the Referee Assessor listens in to each game......

Don't care what comes Chelsea's way one way or another, but Poll is a really poor ref who also loves to be the centre of attention. People moan about Rennie and others, but Poll and Styles are in my opinion the worst of the worst of the worst.

Graham Poll

Cole seems to frame himself by his own quote...

And Chelsea defender Ashley Cole said: "With my booking,
I said to him, 'I'm more than 10 yards. Why should I go back if I am more than 10 yards?'
"And he said, 'Because I said so.'
I said, 'But I' m more than 10 yards', and that was it. Yellow card. No warning or explanation.

Probably went more like this:
Cole: " I'm more than 10 yards you w****r Poll. Why should I go back if i;m more than 10 yards you c**t"
Poll: "Because I said so you over paid, greedy little sh*t who's married to a talentless little tart"
Cole: But I'm more than 10 yards so f**k you you arrogant, pompous *****"
and that was it no warning or explanation.

Graham Poll

Ashley Cole said:
I'm not moaning, I'm really not but we really shouldn't lose a game like that.
No, Cashley, of course you're not moaning, you never do, do you?

If Poll said it, which I doubt, then he shouldn't have done. On the other hand, he would have been absolutely spot on.

:imwith: ...and actually looked out this thread to post the same extract.

I didn't see the game, but whinging players who they they have the right to question/complain everything really get on my t1ts. :nono:

Shaggy, of the rugby union school of referees.

I agree, if their was zero tolerance of this then we might see a better game.

Graham Poll

Graham Poll is a knob who shouyldn't be allowed to officiate a subetto game.

Graham Poll

Part of Chelski's master plan to eliminate all referees from the game so that they can referee games themselves.

Graham Poll

sent Mcfadden off last cos he called him a cheat.Poll is getting too big for his boots i think

Graham Poll

He either called him a cheat or something else that begins with a c and ends in t, either way he was only teling the truth.

Graham Poll

I think Poll claims it was "f***ing cheat"; FiveLive wuldn't say exactly what McFadden claims to have said, but I think "f***ing s**t" might be something that could be mis-heard

I have no problem with refs sending off players for abusive language as long as they are consistent: and I'm fairly sure that it was Poll who a year or so ago accepted a lengthy foul-mouthed tirade from Rooney

Graham Poll

More likely MacFadden asked him if he wanted to join a threesome with him & Will Young

Graham Poll

If ref start sending off players for swearing at them we will have a lot of games abandoned due to lack of players.

Graham Poll

I think Poll is doing a wonderful job in the premier league. My worry is if that people keep criticising him, we will have to put up with him again. Once is enough, so please put out the word he is a good ref and that he should stay in the premiership for as long as possible.

Graham Poll

..more foul and abusive......send them off...............

Graham Poll

With refs generally, there are huge inconsistencies.

They are supposedly cracking down on diving and surrounding refs, yet nothing is being done about it.

When Masters got sent of the other week, the red card was recinded but the result stood and the ref will ref again.

We have all seen it at GP when a player goes down in the penalty area appealing for a pen and the ref doesn't give it, the game carries on. If no pen is given, then the player dived. Why aren't they booked?

Graham Poll

looks like his neighbours aren't eaxctly over the moon with him. :D

Residents of Hertfordshire town Tring are upset with Graham Poll's inability to stay out of the spotlight. "Once upon a time if you told people you were from Tring, they'd say, 'Oh yeah, that's where Walter Rothschild is from'," said one resident. "Now they say, 'Oh, that's where that bloody referee lives'." (Times)

Graham Poll

The defender may have won the ball first and then teeh attacker has fallen over the trailing legs, so no they might not have dived if falling over.
Plus a referee might be unsighted on an incident that is also not seen by a linesman and therefore cannot give a penalty even if tv replays prove he was wrong. He can't give what he can't see. :fishing:

Graham Poll

Why can't that bloke just feck off quietly.

Now he is having a go at the FA for not backing him up in the John Terry row.

He will probably get a slot on MOTD when he finally retires. :( I would prefer to see him get his own Refs Gaffs Show on Sky 3227, an obscure channel due to be launched, targeted at homicidal maniac stalkers.

Hopefully, their ratings will plumet as a result.:sorted:

Apparently Gary Richardson , the fairly punchy BBC sports reporter, has been filming behind the scenes for the past 10 months with him in a documentary due to be aired on Mondday. Unrivalled access, I think it could be fascinating.

Like him or loath him he has a point.

Certain managers are now bigger than the game in their influence, it is very unhealthy and the FA have done little to stop it.

Barwick v Fergie for example??....no contest.

Yeah, sounds interesting until you realise it will be on Inside Sport, that dreadful Gabby Logan vehicle that is as insightful as a blind man in a very dark hole at midnight.

Graham Poll, who is set to retire as a professional referee, may continue officiating at grass-roots level after registering for next season with his local Hertfordshire Football Association. (Daily Express)

It will be could to have someone getting the true laws over for once! Rather than the rubbish that the commentators usually come out with, still hear em talking about daylight for god sake.

Not that **** Poll though.

They will need a studio the size of Hertfordshire to fit his ego in.

great news, would love to wind that bell end up on a Sunday morning

:imwith: Can you imagine it. The first word remotely sweary would be a straight red and a 35 day ban showing him up to be the ultimate hypocrite that he pretends not to be.

Graham Poll

Watched 'Inside Sport' last night about Graham Poll. I thought he came across very well and was almost human to the extent that I felt sorry for him in parts, especially when his mum was in tears. Fascinating insight into his life as a referee.

Listening to his mum, wife and daughter talk about some of the things he has had to put up with wasn't very nice.

Also when he was on the way to the Colchester game. He said that usually he'd head straight to the ground, even if he was early. But he was about an hour early for the Colchester game and pulled into a layby because he was scared to go to work.

I've felt like I've not wanted to go to work before because of sh*t that is happening and it is a really horrible feeling.

Graham Poll

yeah it was sad. he's a good ref imho. what a c**t mourinho was. :sorted:

Graham Poll

I dont remember saying he was "scared" to go to Colchester, just that he didnt want to.

I did feel for his family and John Terry (an England captain no one can be proud of) is an absolute disgrace for his lies. He should lose the arm band for his dishonesty.

The Mourinho statement that he would not mention pertaining to an act between himself and Alex Ferguson seemed very funny to me and in my opinion Poll did come across as arrogant and a bit sour.

He spent ages going on about how everyone else was wrong but when it came to explaining his own mistake in the world cup he couldn't

People like Graham Poll are the reason why referees get a bad reputation.

Always wants to be at the centre of the action and I'm sure he thinks of himself as much of the action as any of the players. All this media stuff now he's retired doesn't surprise me in the slightest and I'm sure we're going to benefit from his views for many years to come.

Personally, I think referees should be anonymous and made to wear Freddie Kruger masks so as not to reveal their identity.

Graham Poll

Also at that referee convention he was quite happy to make little jokes about having to control players with nothing but "a whistle and two cards..or sometimes three"

The bloke is milking it big time

The best refs are the ones you don't notice. When I saw Poll was doing our game at Wycombe a few years back, the red card was guaranteed as he would want everyone to know that although he wasn't on Match of the Day that weekend he was still doing a game.
