Great BFC Comebacks

Great BFC Comebacks

I remember the Swansea 0-2 to 3-2 comeback.brilliant.
I think that crazy 4-3 v Blackburn at gp was a league cup second leg where we were 4-1 down (or maybe just 3-1) from the first leg anyway. I think bobbooker got an own goal off his back & John smeulders saved a penalty.
Didn't we lose twice in a month from 2-0 lead-in our year inthe championship? (at Barnsley? & tranmere?).
Great info from geoffbee.
Is WEB banned from this website now then??

Yep, twice we led 2-0 away and both times we got no points. If any of those six goals had not been scored we would have stayed up  Barnsley was the really rainy one where they gave out those classy plastic macs. Gayle scored a wonder strike I think.

I also remember being 2-0 up v Torquay then they equalised then we won 3-2, think that was near the Swansea one but not sure.

The greatest BFC comeback was :owusu: according to some blinkered fellow fans :fishing:

Doncaster Away What a trip that was.......also seem to remeber we had a following from Scotland that day , think they where Hearts Fans but not sure .... Ranks as one of my favourite away days. Oh to be Nineteen Again ?

Great BFC Comebacks

Sad news GEOFFBEE. It looks like that match wasn't a competitive fixture. I can not find any AFC v BFC matches after 1947

So it looks as if we still don't have a confirmed, previous comeback from 3-0 down.
It was very competitive, I can assure you! And there was a Cup for the eventual winners.
As I said, that 3-3 draw at home to Arsenal was in The London Challenge Cup , which, in those days, involved first teams, of London clubs, and usually drew crowds of between 5000 and 10000, sometimes many more. There was a replay for that match, at Highbury. I believe we lost that one something like 5-0 though...

I was also there and if my memory is right Higgy (Higgingson) had a blinder

The 3-2 win against Swansea didn't Jamie Bates score the leveller from something like 35 yards

Best comeback ever in my mind was when we beat Reading 2-1 at Reading in the Coppell season. It was 1-0 down, i think Jason Price scored the winner and Cureton got booked for diving when all of the 4,500 Bees thought it was a pen.

Brilliant.

In terms of 3 goals? Not in my time.....

Agreed, plus the 2-1 win at Sheff Weds under MA.

No he scored against Torquay - the winner in a 3-2 win

Drawing 2-2 after being 2-0 down at St Mary's in 2005 and at Burnley in 1999 were both pretty decent.

Going 1 down to Man Utd in the 88th?89th minute and then scoring twice in a minute to win the game in that youth cup tie stands out for me.

Great BFC Comebacks

I think I recall us being 2-0 down at home to Darlo in the late 80s, then going in at half-time 4-2 ahead before finally winning 5-3.

Also, weren't we 5-3 down in the League Cup at Barnet with about 5 minutes left? Scored two late goals to escape with a 5-5 draw...

The very first game I brought the long suffering Mr S to - he was well impressed lol
