Greg's Update

Oh dear. If only you knew the facts eh?

Clearly by having to ask a question as denoted by the question mark at the end of the question (?)I dont, which in turn means that I am clearly not in the know nor do I have contact about club matters other than the PR, with anyone who is, which means I could not possibly drop a clanger the size of which was dropped over Patterson.
Never asked for any club news and never will, that way I cant leak any or be accused of doing so.

So you NEVER talk to any BFC Board Members or the Managing Director then?

p.s. yes - that's a question as denoted by the question mark at the end of the question (?)

I have only ever spoken to Joe Bourke, Brian Burgess, John Gosling and Keith Dickens about PR business or in the PR in JG's case. I dont know the rest of them although I have recently exchanged b***ockses with one of them on here.

It was much easier for me to edit my post so that it read correctly although I would have thought that most sensible fans would have worked out what I originally meant.

Sorry OB.
Is there any point discussing the original topic because if you do and dare to offer you view or opinion on GD wise words (all three sentences of them) then you are hit by a wall of abusive responses from people who just should not be representing this club in any form whatsoever. The whole mafia style bullying of these ****ing idiots has left BU on its arse with original members dropping like flies and those that are left offering apologies left right and centre (well most of them with two very noteable exceptions at least).

Greg (or Peter) basically said that he was seeing one of the candidates with David Heath and Keith Dickens. I suggested that Jones and Gosling had been dumped when it turns out Jones was up north running his business or else he would again be involved. No response yet from JG so lets just leave him be for a minute.

Is it worth debating that clearly the lessons we have been told have been learnt clearly does not comprise changing the selection panel? I thought it was worthwhile but that of course is b***ocks.
Now I like this cos it feels like the poacher turned gamekeeper cos instead of me shouting abuse at the directors as was the case in 92 we have now got the obviously hard working, superbly talented football knowledgeable David Heath shouting the abuse back. Now I have not had the best of days today but to come home to someone I have no knowledge of and of course his trusted companion giving me stick for daring to question his very involvement seems to me like exactly the cancer that is spreading through this club.

The next question is who therefore would I have do it instead and the answer to that is not the same people who got it wrong last time (irrespective of whether I agreed with the appointment of Fitz) cos that is not who they collectively decided upon.
Why not ask Matthew Benham to draw up a short list from his knowledge of football and our wage structure and get KD and BB to interview those put forward and to make an agreed recommendation for MB to approve?
Maybe that idea would also just be me talking b***ocks again Bee H but a good little director (Keith Loring for example) would just say thanks for that Paul we will give your idea due consideration along with the other 100 odd we have already received.

Er, hang on a minute. If you are so keen to smear the previous interview panel then surely that would mean Keith Dickens would not be involved either. In fact, neither would Greg Dyke. Or does his responsibility as Chair of the Board only come in to play when it's good news? And I don't even understand the bit I have put in bold though you are absolutely right - Fitz was not the choice of anyone on the interview panel. Patterson was.

Somewhere between the panel's recommendation to the Board that Patterson be offered the job and the end of the phone call between Keith Dickens who was tasked to offer the job to him, something went badly wrong. Some people believe it's because Patterson wasn't happy with the money. Unlike you, I don't have a hotline straight into the MD's office but you might be interested to ask him next time he's briefing you to post on here.

How do I know all this? Because I was on the BU Board and had every right to know.

Keith Dickens made an attempt last time to move the Club towards a professional method of appointing a manager. Personally, I can do without all this cloak-and-dagger, "I know a bloke..." type appointment process so I was quite happy with that. However, you are suggesting that Matthew Benham make the choice this time. Why? Do you want the Club's major decisions made by a single individual? His data will doubtless prove interesting reading for those involved in the hiring of the new manager but there is no way he should be calling the shots. Input, yes. Final say, no. And if he does have the final say, ROB, and the appointment is another disaster, will you be on here calling for his resignation?

Perhaps when you reply you could also inform us which lessons were learnt during the last interview process. I haven't seen them spelt out anywhere so I'm curious to know what has been identified as the mistakes and what is being done differently this time to avoid the same pitfalls.

Benham isn't even a director of the club. Who else shall we ask - we owe the taxman some money too (probably), maybe we should ask him.

I've got a huge overdraft, part of which was caused by my buying a Season Ticket. I'm sure that kind of makes a creditor of the Club. Perhaps you should ask me.

Greg's Update

Well to coin a phrase David, lets hope you and whoever dont make a b***ocks of it again this time! Or for that matter leak it again before the ink is dry on the contract!
Good Luck our future is in your hands! (abee will be pleased).

No I'm not pleased because I am not persuaded that it is true. I am however desperately sad that we seemingly have no individual strong enough to provide any leadership at all at the club.......not Greg Dyke, not Brian Burgess and clearly not Keith Dickens if as you state and presumably believe the future of BFC is in the hands of David Heath a non-executive director.

BFC needs someone to get a firm grip on its affairs and that would in any other organisation come from the Managing Director. I can promise you that were I Managing Director of Brentford Football Club then I would have kicked the asses of any non-executive directors who strayed onto my patch.......and yes before you ask, Keith Dickens heard all of this from me last Saturday in what was no doubt a not very satisfying forty five minutes for him in the New Road. Indeed I emailed him on Sunday and said that I was no doubt very rude and blunt with him but the club that I have supported for sixty years is going to hell in a handbasket and it is his responsibility to either get a grip or get out. The whole situation is a train wreck and I am bitterly disappointed with three individuals being the ones that I have already named in this post......but let's do it one more time.....step forward Messrs Dyke, Burgess and Dickens.

Did he drop you an e-mail about six months ago Chris?

Finally I would like you to confirm on here or deny that by the above post you are accusing David Heath of leaking the Patterson information "before the ink was dry on the contract". David Heath is my nominee director and any libel against him with regard to his non-executive directorship at BFC is a slur against me.

ROB knows everything about the PR, LR, KD, etc etc etc.............

If abee takes over (if only someone listened!)...................you putting your name into the hat for manager then?

to accuse people of leaking news about appointments without knowing the truth makes you wish that someone would sue ROB (Mr Grimes).............

the PR is still sh*te too...................................

Greg's Update

ROB, in another thread everyone is rightly angered by fans being sworn at by a turnstile operator.

However, fewer seem to care when Directors and people in positions of power within BU and BFC use these forums in an inappropriate way.

"Personal opinion" is used as an excuse for gossip and abuse of loyal fans on the good old "GPG" - replaced by accusations of "libel" when you give some back.

It's not an accusation of "libel"..... it is libel and if you cannot see the difference between gossip and abuse and what seems to me to be a clear statement by Royal Oak Bee that David Heath was responsible for leaking that Darren Patterson had got the Team Manager job before "the ink was dry on the contract" then I'm sorry for you. It's not a question of "giving some back" as you put it but you must be smart enough to know that.

There was also a story doing the rounds that David Heath was personally promoting Darren Patterson not because he necessarily believed he was the best person for the job but because Patterson would be bringing in a good friend of David's namely Andy Scott as Pattersons assistant manager. That was absolutely untrue and it's time that the people who promote these nudge, nudge wink, wink stories were hunted down and either put up and pay up or withdraw.

However if you believe and wish to add your name to Royal Oak Bee's allegation that David Heath as BFC director emailed Spider Bee to leak the information about Patterson and thus it was from David that the "leak" came through Spider Bee's post then please say so.

Good afternoon JimBob

I did not swear at ROB, I just advised him that where he had said in his normal authorative manner that "obviously Jones and Gosling have been dumped" was very much incorrect in a way that might get the message across in a very clear manner.

The turnstile incident reported on a different thread is completely different !

As yet another thread turns into a bunfight between those that speculate and get shot down by those that share secret information so can gang up on the speculater etc etc!

Sooooooooooo boring!!!!!

Getting back to topic...I think?, I am trying not to get angered by these kind of links as all it is doing is confirming what we knew. The last managerial appointment process was a fkin disgrace and so many respected candidates were treated like poo and are now revelling in sticking two fingers up that idiots who treated them like that. Its all history but it just shows what a bunch of divs we have captaining this sinking ship!.

Abee - the way I read ROB's post to SpiderBee it looked like nothing more than a bit of a wind up that you more than happily decided to take in the worst way. I suppose I will just have to wait for ROB's reply though?

As for your campaign against the "nudge nudge wink wink" brigade, do you remember the "at least we are legal" hints of Banana aimed at ROB a while back? I dont remember that causing you much problem, or do you categorize that as just gossip as well?

I don't give a twopenny **** what people write about anyone else and what ROB wants to do about posts by any other GPG member is up to him. It's not my business but I would seriously advise anyone who believes that they have been libelled to deny it, politely ask the poster to withdraw the remark or repeat it and then take whatever action they wish.

David Heath is my nominee on the BFC board and I am well aware that he puts in very long hours on behalf of BFC. Indeed I am embarrassed about what I unwittingly got him into. In my view David has been slandered or libelled on at least two occasions; the first being the story doing the rounds a few months ago that David was pushing for Patterson to be the BFC Team Manager because Patterson had promised to bring in David's good friend Andy Scott as his Assistant Manager. That story was told to me at one of the two matches that I attended before last Saturday so it was either at the Tranmere or Chesterfield match and it then gathered pace. I was appalled that people would think for one minute that David would put any personal interest before that of the football club whilst carrying out his duties as non-executive director. I spoke to David and asked if he knew what people were saying and he was extremely angry. I do not expect to hear or read Andy Scott's name mentioned in the same breath as Patterson and David Heath again but again if anyone cares to repeat it in print then let's have it.

The second is Royal Oak Bee's hints, nudges and winks that David was responsible for the leaks that Patterson had got the BFC job and "before the ink was dry on the contract". I have asked him to confirm that or withdraw it. I imagine that Royal Oak Bee is checking with his "source" and that we shall hear from him when he has decided what he is going to do exactly.

Had Sky News on in the office and saw pictures of GD waving his Brentford scarf. Thought he'd resigned but it seems Cameron wants him as a joint Tory/Lib Dem candidate for Mayor.

Typical Sky News...report Dyke is running for Mayor then run a further story that Dyke is NOT running for Mayor. Still it does mean I've seen the GP touchline and some famous paddock faces six or seven times.

Anyone see Greg Dyke has been approached by the Tories to stand as London Mayor!! He spoke to David Cameron who he likes very much......and said he would stand as an independant in coalition with the Liberal Party!!

However, this will not be the case

Coming from a man who was an open "giver" to the Labour Party not too long ago - he has certainly changed tack! Standing up against the Mayor who supports the building of our new stadium with oppositon party policies, is not one I ever thought would even be considered! GD said he likes Ken very much but feels a new wave of running London should be considered and he likes David Cameron's ideas......lol

I'd be appalled if Dyke ran against Livingstone, who is an open supporter of the Lionel Road plans.
