Haka

Gutted that New Zealand weren't allowed to do the haka before the game this afternoon!

Anyone know why?

Haka

There was a row about when they would do it which never not resolved so it was scrapped. The welsh wanted to do something just before kick off.

Really put the All Blacks off though didn't it!

Best way of dealing with the haka if it bothers that much is to do what David Campese used to do for Australia and just run around in the end goal while they are doing it. Personally, I'd line up and face it as a reckon it would spur me on as much as them.

Read a book. That would really piss them off.

Very well thank you.

If you have seen a more comprehensive team please let me know.

If NZ are odds against for the World Cup next year put your house on it.

Every four years I reckon NZ will pulverise everyone in sight and every four years they bottle it. Mind you, I suspect 2007 may be the year they finally crack it.

Trust me, with The Great Redeemer they are unstoppable. Their 2nd XV would probably win the World Cup.

Some of the play even I couldn't do.

They are still flithy, rotten cheats though

Haka

They surely won't be odds off after yesterdays display. Awesome.

I would get involved at 8/11 or better :computer:

Heads, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes.

Please to see the Taffs get gubbed...lol not allowing the Haka..lol really put the Blacks off ...did it not...lol

Perhaps we need to come up with a Brentford Haka.

that is the best idea ever. the players should line up in the following formation..........

Respond to the Haka??? F*ck me, Richard Cockerill got carpeted when he had the nerve to front it up, and look what happened to Brian O'Driscoll last year when he gave the correct response! Let the Pacific Island All Blacks have their silly dance - they'll stuff anyone, Haka or not, and I agree they appear not to have peaked too early this time and will win the World Cup in some style next year.

The Haka always used to be performed to the crowd. That's certainly how I remember it when I was younger. At some point it's turned into a "challenge" - whomever said that "sport is war continued by other means" is correct. The Haka should go back to what is was which is a demonstration to the crowd of a Maori traditional and not used as some pathetic sports psychological one-upmanship.

Having looked into this further, it appears the All Blacks got the hump when the WRU said the Welsh national anthem would be sung as a response, having consulted a Maori expert, who said the Haka is supposed to be challenged. Which, incidentally, was exactly what O'Driscoll was told having consulted a Maori expert before the first Lions test last year. All of which gives an impression of the All Blacks throwing their toys out the pram. Which is a shame as they're a great side and a pleasure to watch.

I was watching a 7's game some time back and there was a predominately pacific side playing some micks. They did the haka and the irish responded by linking arms and doing a quick riverdance lol crowd laughed and the tongan types were completely deflated.

I always think that the English should reply with a morris dance. Especially given how they are playing at the moment.

Bit precious of the All Blacks. Why should they have the ''Last word'' away from home? Quite right of the taffs.

Given that a big chunk of the All Blacks are from the South Sea Islands - I don't see why they perform a Maori haka anyway.

As for the rugby. NZ are bunch of arrogant Tw**s. Here's hoping that they stuff up their ''God given'' right to be called World Champions yet again.

lol Quality behaviour. What year was that? I'd love to see some footage.

I'd turn my back on the ****ers if I was playing.

One of my dogs has kennel cough at the moment.

Give him a mike before the game and he could do a terrific haka - "go on Bertie, cough one up mate" :sorted:

I thought they were all Maori's though?

I played in a rugby match versus Latimer a few years ago and a few of them tried their own haka  it lasted about 10 seconds before they ran out of ideas and just readied themselves. I was all in a daze.. why don't other countries have a tradition of their own, seeing as England inventing rugby?

Why are the All Blacks arrogant? They are clearly the best team in the world and I understand its normal for people to be bitter toward a team who is destroying everyone in its path (a la Man utd circa 99, Arsenal invincibles and the Chelski juggernaut today) but NZ dont come across anywhere near as abrasive as any of the above.
