Half and Half Scarf

Sorry to ask as I know like so many fans we all hate the things but as a 1 off I'm really after a half and half scraf for the Liverpool game.

Does anyone know where I can get one as I couldn't get to the game yesterday?

Thanks

Considering I saw at least 6 sellers at the game I think you're just on a wind up.

Would you like a drum to go with it as well?

:banghead:

I think there were plenty being swept up after the game in the away section...

@BertieBee should know better than anyone that you get Bees toggery at Bertie Bee's Bazaar.

You'll need a time machine, but you can pick up a fine rosette while you're there.

Last time we played at Chelsea there was a stall selling bog paper with the Arsenal badge on each sheet. Other teams are available. You'll know we've arrived when you see this at LR. I'd invest in some QPR or FFC rolls as we haven't been in the EPL long enough to create proper rivalries yet.

SORRY TO ASK !!!!!
Apologise and everything will go back to normal.

Some rather nasty members around here in the amongst the comedians. If you don't like them nobody is forcing you to have one in your life. I'm not a big fan of shady people turning up and selling stuff that doesn't help the club but if someone wants it, that's their business.

I am one of the legions who has never sought one of these out I would check out eBay Bertie. Items for sale by phillip_cooper_ltd | eBay this guy seems to do a roaring trade on recent scarves.

It surprises me they are not practically giving them away after the game - but at West Ham friendly they were apparently asking for £7 even after the game (heard someone negotiate two for a tenner).

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but literally thousands of us walked past these guys beforehand maybe someone who was going to the game could have helped you out with a request in advance :)

Half and Half Scarf

The sellers were calling them ‘Matchday scarves’ ?‍♂️

Don’t understand the vitriol to be honest. They harm no one, and for a child or a collector would make a great souvenir of a big day out watching Brentford take on one of the top three club sides on the planet.

I went to watch Benfica vs FC Copenhagen in the Champions League, and bought a half/half scarf as a souvenir. Feel free to judge me ?

I keep thinking of the old Jasper Carrot story about going to Old Trafford for Utd. v Birmingham and, in particular the bit where he says, "It was a sea of red and white. Well there was one blue and white scarf, with a Birmingham City fan hanging from it".

My mind translates that to a half and half scarf, with a vendor hanging from it.

I didn't get one on Saturday, but I have an Oldham one from last Tuesday, if you fancy? (At a collector's price, obviously.)

I didn’t realise they were getting made for league cup games. ??

Half and Half Scarf

I hate these with a passion, but, there are certain games that they would be ok for.

e.g. A First Round FA Cup tie between a Non league team and EFL club, would be of interest to the Non league clubs fans.

Only those that have never been before and would never go again.
If there ever was a Horsham Crawley half and half scarf the seller would find himself sitting in the local duck pond.
They don't muck about round here.

They were selling bees/forest green scarves at that game. My partner quite liked them…

Following this, I’m pleased to say that the counselling is going well…

The only time I would ever buy one would be for the worst ever game imagineable.

I should have got one for the barnet fa Cup replay.

That would've been unique - a half and half with both halves the same:

As I was walking away from the BCS today, I noticed a couple of lads (early 20's?) chatting about half-and-half scarves, one of them talking about starting a collection (think he said he already had four?). When I looked over, both were wearing BFC/Everton scarves.

Thing is, both looked pretty normal, spoke with a local accent (so presumably weren't tourists/groundhoppers etc) and I'd say they were regular Bees fans eg I could see one of them had a Bees shirt on under his jacket.

Wtf?

Look, some of us collect programmes (ever thought how half and half these are - with their away team inserts!?) and some youngsters may have decided to buy half and half scarves as a momento for every PL scalp we take ! What’s the problem ? It’s just another way of collecting and building memories.

Completely agree, I see no problem with Half and Half's or programmes. As a kid, I was always chasing players around for signatures, I'd just get anyone and everyone I could get to sign programmes. Bit of memorabilia, I've got a programme from almost every game I've been to, grew out of chasing up players years ago but I still get programmes for every game I cam, except for my local Harrogate Town who no longer sell programmes in the ground

It's not a "problem" and neither were these two "youngsters".

Nor is it the same as eg a programme. For one thing, the programme is a BFC publication, not something sold by some itinerant street trader who's bought them from a wholesaler who's sourced them in Bangladesh.

For another thing, the programme has specific information, including squad details etc, customised to each particular game, and you can read it after you get home. Whereas a scarf just goes in a cupboard. I mean, you can't even wear it to the next game to keep your neck warm.

As such a programme has a connection and affinity to the club/match which a mere scarf cannot.

But hey, if people want to buy them - and some obviously do - then that's their business.

I just find it a strange new development in following football, that's all.

Someone was selling them for £20. Mental.

Not in that sense, can't sign a scarf but I don't see the problem with kids enjoying their time and having something to remember
Me neither.

But these weren't "kids" I was referring to, they looked to me to be in their early 20's.

And I repeat, they must be perfectly entitled to collect these scarves if they like.

Just as I'm entitled to find it strange.
