Half-term report

The Guardian is currently featuring "half-term reports" on the Premier League clubs, written by supporters. The headings are: Overall Asessment, Stars and Flops, Happy with the manager?, We need to buy... , and Moments that made me smile. What would be our own assessment of the season so far?

Half-term report

My thought are

Doing well both First Team and B Squad
First Team could have done a little better , turn some of 8 draws into wins
Good Cup Run
But good performance all round
Continue with the progress that’s been made

Excellent progress, just getting better and better. Well don A+. Keep it up for an A** and promotion and an A*** if we reach Wemberly in the L.C. and do well in the FA Cup. COYB's!

FWIW the latest BU newsletter and their website contains an article on this very subject if anyone’s interested.

Half-term report

Achievement A-
Effort A

This was always going to be a challenging half term for Brentford after moving up from the C set at the beginning of last season and putting in a huge amount of work to finish near the top. They had to contend with overcoming what was ultimately a disappointing set of marks in their final end of year exams and took a little while to settle back into class early in the term. Pitch Geography was a bit weak to start off, forgetting the basics meant that even a couple of sparks of brilliance from new boy Toney weren’t enough to get the marks against more organised boys from Preston House, and they learnt that selective revision and mark spotting weren’t the best way to deal with Stoke House.

Since then, they’ve shown great improvement in Chemistry and consistently do their homework to a creditably high standard. Their work has been diligent, even if their essays have often been lacking the stylistic flourishes from old boy Said who moved to another school. One has the feeling they’ve gained new confidence that come the end of term exams they’ll not need to rely on the right questions coming up and will have revised carefully as they went along rather than in a last minute flurry of all nighters which took their toll last term.

Here’s to them keeping up the good work and showing that they really do deserve to go up to the top set for next term.

The new boy Sam is performing better since the prefects banned him from the tuck shop.

Half-term report

Overall assesment - Building a good challenge after a slow sloppy start. New faces and losing some of the old boys hasnt helped. Plus the lack of pre season due to the PO's. The second half of the season provides a good chance to finally make that final step.

Mark B+

Star - Toney
Best buy - Jenalt
Flop (if you can call it that) Ghoddos (so far)
Future buys - A right back and another winger. No names
Manager - been fantastic and learning all the time. His tactical awareness has really shone through at times. Positive and negative.
Fans - Top effort in the two home games, away fans need to step up. Our 200 unseen fans at home to QPR did a fantastic job

Side notes

LR - Fantastic experience and everything i thought it would be.
Best team faced - Norwich.
Worst team - Sheff Wed.
Best goal - Canos v Blackburn closely followed by Canos 1st at Cardiff.
Worst moment - Blackburn equaliser

Final position prediction 3rd and a PO win finally.
