Halftime

Am I alone in thinking that a ground full of football loving supporters would appreciate listening to half-time scores, which at Griffin Park seem to have been omitted recently. Rather than loudish music whilst trying to chat and catch up with Saturday afternoon buddy's in the next couple of rows. Also most would agree half-times without PG just wouldn't be the same, but at least in the New Road his voice lately is rather rambling and difficult to understand.

On the subject of PG and announcements, it might sound silly but I would like him to announce any oppostion scorers also even if to know which c**t has scored against us. Quite often i don't recognise them or even notice them (except for today). I suppose some on here will think this a bit of a weird request no doubt.

I've thought this for some time. It's very disingenuous, amateurish and smacks of poor sportmanship. Even if he did it in a grudging way it would bee an improvement.

I do agree about the half times also.

Stop living in the 1980's and get an i phone if you want updates from other games and player profiles of the opposition players

Can never get a decent signal.

While we're at it we could all listen to our own music and do without the PA altogether!

Is it possible that we don't get opposition scorers because PG doesn't always know who they are? I agree though that it comes across a bit unprofessional.

I would also like to have the halftime scores from other games back again.

If PG used his iphone he would get the scorers almost instantly allowing him to then relay the information to thoose not paying attention in the stands:idea:

I can't think of many away games where they've announced our goalscorers. Stop blaspheming & slagging off PG please.

Didn't know we'd stopped announcing half time scores though. That is odd. Sort it out please BFC Official. x

I noticed our subs were having a mini training session on the pitch at half time yesterday. Shouldnt they be listening to Uwe's instructions with the rest of the team?

No reception on New Road :(

Don't worry abee has just signed a contract for another mobile phone provider to install another mast on the floodlights

Halftime

I assumed it was because he couldn't bring himself to announce the score from Molineux...

I think the speakers are a little better in the NR compared to the end of last season when we all just gave up trying to understand anything.
I'm also surprised no one has mentioned their opinions on centre circle challenge, which I personally found a little bit enjoyable, but again PG was always running it down. Though now with no halftime scores either he's left with little to do other than announce some obscure community award.

Yeah I find it a shame the half time scores aren't read out either. I have friends who support other clubs in this division and it's nice to find out how they're doing. Plus it does pass a couple of minutes of half time...

With regards to reading out the opposition scorers, probably would be good for that to happen. Would allow me to know which of their players to rue. But that said it's fair enough if the club doesn't want to, don't think too many people will frown upon it.

use to love hearing the scores, if not put some TV's in the food courts where possible?

I used to the like the good old days when one lucky spectator got to come onto the pitch and take penalties against the youth/reserve keeper, winning a prize for each one they scored. I'm pretty sure you used to be able to win a holiday which is obviously out of the question these days but I'm sure we could do something along those lines...

Halftime

the phone signal in New road is pretty good for me...

I've even been able to watch Sky sports on the phone through the sky-go app (kills my data !!) before our game starts of course....

Why don't we put a board down the side of the pitch with the letters A through to Z on it. We could put a corresponding list in the program, against each letter in the program we list a fixture, for example A-Man unt V Arsenal; B- Chelsea V aston Villa etc. On the board by the pitch, under A you put the relevant score for example 1.0. So by referring to your program you can see that match A is man unt V arsenal and the half time score is 1.0.
This would surely give everybody the info they crave without using the PA system and also drive up the sale of Programs to give the club much needed revenue.

I think you should send this to Viz or maybe even Rachel Riley.

i've long campaigned for bear baiting to be introduced at half time but the club just do not listen. and i'm a season ticket holder, damn you brentford fc, listen to your customers :crazy1:

Younger readers may not be aware that this used to be standard practice at many grounds - although I don't know whether it was done at GP as I was still frequenting Fratton Park back in the 60s and 70s.

Yes, it did happen at GP , certainly in the 60s, not sure when it stopped. As an aside, couldn't ht scores be put on the scoreboards, on second thoughts, no, because they would, no doubt get overloaded, and not work until fixed!

I happen to know that Sir Peter will NEVER agree to announce the opposing team's scorers names, in any circumstances.

I'm not sure exactly why (I suspect it may be so as not to give the scorer/away fans a boost?), but I have to say I find it irritating, too.

Perhaps a compromise might be to flash the name on the scoreboard at the Away End, where Bees fans can see it, but away fans can't?

That would also solve the problem of not being able to hear the PA in parts of the ground.

Failing the tannoy system being sorted out, PG could always make an effort to speak a bit more clearly and enthusiastically, as his job is to serve us the fans, not run a one man show?.

I think he serves the club and fans pretty well - are there any extras you'd like him to include just for you? :afro:
