Dervis! When did we start calling him that then?? ?
Seen it a couple of times recently. I had a Turkish mate at school whose surname is Bayraktoglu and he was often called Bayrak so Dervis seems fine (the -oglu suffix just means son of).

OK that's fine then.... "Ooooooooo Alan Cormack!" ?

I know Halil since Sparta days. He is really talented but i am not sure he has the mentality to play in PL.

Gala really wants him, he did well in loan term. The problem is they can't afford 10m, even 5m is doubtful. So my guess is they will look for a +1 year loan with option to buy. Diagne trade would be their dream come true but i don't think we will ever agree to that.

If you cannot afford to pay for a pair of shoes then you should not pick them up, and try them on! The same should apply to footballers.

"The deal is done"...

Not sure what he was doing playing last night then!

Reading the referenced article it seems that the deal is very much not done

Galatasaray just have a new proposal for Phil.

"Continuing its transfer studies, Galatasaray Management is also making an intense effort about the striker. In this sense, Halil Dervişoğlu, who is at the top of the list and wore the Yellow-Red jersey on loan last season, is on the agenda. According to the latest news, Aslan will make a new offer to the English Premier League team Brentford, which holds the testimonial of the star player. According to the news of Fanatik; Cim Bom is expected to offer 6 million Euros to the Ada representative. Galatasaray also produced a new formula for this transfer.

"THEY WILL PAY 6 MILLION IN 3 INSTALLMENTS

"Just like in the transfer of Alexander Cicaldau, the testimonial of the national football player is expected to be paid in installments. Yellow-Red People are planning to split 6 million Euros in 3 taxis. Now all eyes are on England. It is a matter of curiosity how Brentford will respond to this proposal by Galatasaray."

If a deal was imminent he wouldn’t have played yesterday, surely?

He might well still go before the window closes, I just hope it’s a permanent deal.

Halil Dervisoglu

Pretty much it sounds like Galatasaray really want him, Halil probably would like to go there, but they simply can’t afford him, which means unless something changes Halil will probably be with us this season.

Or that we will loan him out again.

Think club waiting till the valuation is met. Sadly it's one of those moves we thought would be great just doesn't have legs. Move on.
I wonder what the valuation is? Galatasary rumoured to now be offering £6m in instalments. What did we pay for him, something like £3m? Given that he's really done nothing of note since being here, I wouldn't have thought £6m was that unreasonable.

£1.5m IIRC.

Halil Dervisoglu

Put this down to “one that didn’t work out”. Shame, as he sometimes showed flashes of brilliance, just not consistent enough.

If we bought him for £1.5m and sell him for €6m I'd say it worked out very well.

The transportation of the instalments may be an issue I agree

Brentford should demand cash up front. All of it.

Galatasaray manager bemoans club debts

Even if a football club were to win the UEFA Champions League every year, it would still be strapped to pay off its debt, the manager of a major Turkish side lamented according to media reports.

Fatih Terim, the manager of Turkish football club Galatasaray, told beIN Sports Turkey that even the interest on the club's loans was not payable.

As of the end of June, Galatasaray had accumulated net debts of over 1.8 billion Turkish liras ($227.8 million), according to a statement by club Vice President Kaan Kancal last month

Almost certainly the biggest stumbling block here.

Take the €6m and reinvest. Could be good in a less intense league but not here sadly

Halil Dervisoglu

He does seem to be a good player and think he could play for us but unfortunately comes across as wanting to be anywhere but here...
Add to that his dad touting him about so perhaps cashing in is our best bet

Halil Dervisoglu

I thought the way he clapped the fans as he went off suggested he was thinking he might be saying goodbye.
I don't know how people can read so much into how a player walked off a pitch,.
He was the best player on the pitch by a mile against West Ham
And first half last night and looked good second half too. I would have taken Forss off and given him a go up front.

Plus the signing on fee, plus the agents fees, plus wages since he has been here, and minus a sell on clause.

6 million euros not pounds so that would be £5.14 million
