No!:sorted:

They are in a cup final tomorrow night so I doubt many first teamers are.

I enjoyed that match!!! Best players for me, Tomlin ( who played upfront with Moore ) Peters and England. Masters in goal was bellowing out orders and his kicking and throwing were superb. Scott Fitz came on in 2nd half and played up front with Dimitriov  Entertaining match, good passing play, end to end stuff :sorted:

.......................given the team we put out, and also that Hampton were unlikely to have put out a strong team because of their bigger match tomorrow night,..............was there a purpose to this game..................?:fishing:

..................and if so, given the possibilities of injuries, could someone please explain what that purpose was....................

Hampton Updates & Reports

as we havent got a reserve team.. all the fringe players need some matches beneath them if ever called upon.. plus some were back from injury or even suspension (moore)

...............so is this to be a regular feature, then, and if so, why DON'T we run a reserve side in the lower football pyramid?......just a thought, like......

.............but no run out for the likes of Oli and Framps to help them on the road back to match fitness, nor an outlet for Rhodes to gain confidence...?...more thoughts from Chairman Miaow......

 .......didn't see anything about that on the OS !!!!!!!..........

Well, trips to the Beveree are never really about the football, are they? It wasn't much of a game, but a nice place to enjoy a drink and chat to people while vaguely watching a game of football. How humiliating for Fitz that he was only a late sub in this side, though. I wonder if he's got the message yet?

Tomlin was our best player by some distance, I thought, though Jamie England also played quite well and Mousinho looked better when he moved to central midfield than he did at right back.

Funny moment when a H&R player screams "Hit him, hit him!" followed less than a minute later with the same player complaining that we contested a drop ball, claiming, "It's only a friendly!" (Also there was absolutely no reason for us not to contest the drop ball, which was not awarded because the ref stopped for an injury.)

Was good game. Very end to end stuff and realy fast football.

Moore & Tomlin played well but didint link together all that good.

Clark Masters had a blinder with important saves.

Fitz came on with about 10mins to go and played alright.

Carle Cader Andrews played really well in CM.

Mousinho isnt a RB prefer him in the mix of things.

Impressed with Ryan Peters but worrying that after the game he looked in pain holding his hip/groin.

Att- 301 - Probably about 250 Bees fans.

Good game overall :sorted:

Fitz played "alright"? I think that's fairly generous, given that his only chance of scoring was into an empty net and he couldn't find the target. OK, it was a difficult chance on his wrong foot, but the goalie (who was a source of amusement all night) wasn't even in his own penalty area.

Was there a programme?

the goalie (who was a source of amusement all night)

He was something else! lol

I thought Jamie England looked like a decent player last night - I thought he was a striker but he was playing midfield?

good shout, we could have a reserve side in the sunday league and it wont cost much to enter

We could but they would be kicked all over the pitch and loads of them would pick up niggles or more serious injuries because of it.

I know the oppo weren't great but some of our players did really well

I love Clarke Masters, his kicking and throwing of the ball is just superb and so accurate, I am not going to get into a "Nelson" argument but Masters really is wasted sitting on the bench week in week out.

Osbourne is very good heading the ball and his passing was good too. Moushino was a good battler and worked hard, better in midfield, but his passing sometimes let him down. Charles was a bit of a drifter and often left the wing exposed and was under fire from Masters for the whole game. I didnt notice too much of Maberley.

England was really good, did a lot of chasing, battled really hard, ran with the ball, good tackling and good passing/crossing. Peters was like a whippett, god that boy can run, good movement into positions and forethought, good crossing and battled hard but did tire midway through the 2nd half. CarderAndrews played well and is definately one for the future. Tillen played well in his better position.

Moore and Tomlin upfront...mm different, Tomlin definately had the better game, lots of good runs, good turns and passes, prefer him upfront than on the wing. Moore cannot head the ball for toffee, think he made it twice in the whole match!! He did work hard though and again like Tomlin and Peters during the match had good thought for running onto the ball and passing.

Not going to comment on the subs, too many of them, only that Scott Fitz had a great chance when the oppo goalie made one of his comedy errors but the angle was quite difficult and if he had faffed and tried to get his angle better, he would have lost the chance. Dimitriov really needs to get his mullett cut too....:nono:

For a fiver, it was an entertaining match, 10 mins from home, nice mild evening, good atmosphere, maybe there will be some more at our other favourite friendly places :sorted:

Agree that Masters looks decent, but he is still learning - classic example being Hampton's goal where he palmed the free kick (which was a good save to be fair) straight back into the danger area. Sure it won't be long before he's 'mastered' :sneakoff: these sort of errors though and will be ready for the step up. definately not his time yet though in my opinion & still someway to go before he's ousting Nelson...
