I noticed from the Ealing Road some distrubance from Hate Corner in the New Road.

Does this mean Hate Corner is returning?

Or knobhead stewards have surfaced there ugly heads?

From my view of things from ER, it looked like a few Bees fans wanted to have fun and support their club in the same way as 20 or so southend were in the Brook road end.
Unfortunately from where I was standing it looked like the stewards took the easy way out and removed the half a dozen Bees fans

it was in fact a dozen or so 12/13 year olds having a bit of banter with southend 'chaps' in the corner but the 'new' stewards in the new rd thought it would be easier to throw innocent bees fans out then be brave and go in the away end where the real abuse was coming from............as usual..............stewards, mostly a complete waste of time:sad:

i agree the ealing road think they are loud but when you sit in any other part of the ground the sound doesnt travel at all you barely hear anything, the sound travels better from the breamer, be good to have 3 parts of the ground all in unison

I would start going to matches again if they brought back the fence in New Road to seperate the 'family stand' from the normals.

Speaking with some Southend supporters on the way home, they sai dthey though the stewarding was a bit OTT as there was good humoured banter mainly about some fat bloke, who simply took off his top to show his belly off. At which point the stewards ejected him.

And one of those two had extremely traumatic personal reasons that may have gone some way to explaining why he got involved in a situation that he wouldn't normally have gone near.

This was a lifelong fan of 56 years old that has NEVER been in this position before. But never mind, chuck him out with no questions asked and no chance to give an explanation.

OK, he was probably in the wrong to a degree, but he was only attempting to defuse the heavy handed over the top stewarding. A bit more savvy wouldn't go amiss with some of these little Hitlers.

Sounds even more like me, but honestly it wasn't! The guy concerned was sticking up for the 12/13 years olds as they were getting sh!t from the stewards. The Southend fans saw this and started calling him a fat paedophile etc. He actually found this funny and opened his shirt to stroke his nipples (well, who wouldn't?).

I seem to remember the 3 lardy Southampton pie eaters getting a round of applause for basically the same thing.

But nipple tweaking is not allowed under any circumstances at GP it seems

And anyone who knows the guy and what he'd been through that day would have a great amount of sympathy.

I was watching from a distance and did wonder why it ended like it did, people offering one another out from safety with stewards, bricks and sometimes police in the way is part and parcel of football. It's a bit gay but it happens and doesn't mean much in the long and tall of life IMO.

The same thing would happen, they would lock on one person and people would make a noise but what can they do. I like to think I'm half normal but in my younger days I have found myself in the wrong ends by mistake, on the pitch and peed as a newt in grounds. The only time I've ever been thrown out is when I've decided to tell bods offering me out that they are waankers by the mode of hand signals. Norwich at home this season, a bloke celebrates our goal by jumping on the advertising boards and ends up going forward and landing on the wrong side. He comes back and sits down and then the heavy mob arrive and show him the way out. I don't know if the police ask for this, the stewards enjoy it or the club demand it but it obstructs the view of all of us around it for a while, incites the crowd who seem to think they are seeing an injustice and really fecks off mates and family trying to sort it out, it just puts a right downer on proceedings.

The stewards said to us Quote Mind your own and F--- off. having surported the bees for 50 years iam thinking if they let the stewards to that to our young fans there wont be a brentford in the next as the stewards would have taken our surport away.I was so incensed that i conplained to chief steward that the seems to be one law for other ,he ageeed that all it was banter and signs to each other fans and stewards got it wrong not going into southend, Also if they are going to throw young fans out making signs then maybe the southend number2 should have also gone when he could not take the chants at him from the ealing road and made a rude sgin to them

As I said I was in ER but not one steward was watching on the Southend crowd just the Bees few

That's what I saw from about 10 yards away as well, though the stewards did go and have a word with the Southend fans after the "advice" they got from serveral New Road regulars

how much would it cost the club to hire security to keep the stewards out of the ground on matchdays? or alternatively have a "stewards area" where they must stay during the game to stop them disturbing the fans, similar to the family stand.

I think when the Club take into consideration why the two were ejected if they sit down face to face with them, they may find out that the pair had been through a really traumatic day before hand...

In the stewards defence that doesnt excuse their behaviour (if they were out of order) and they weren't to know, but I think maybe a little word with DaddyBee might just shine the light on the incident....

Is that a general statement about everyone on ER? If you are calling me a chav I shall be forced to ask you to recant by sticking your head down the loo and pulling the chain! Laney and his mob are quite content in the upper class section of the ER and I doubt will return to Hate Corner although it will always live in our hearts.

I could never see a problem with HC.....looking from above in the more expensive part of New Road....Let the riff raff gesture towards each-other....GP lost it's soul with the Royal Oak going & seating on New Road.
