Haye v Harrison

Haye v Harrison

Scotty-Kempy on the undercard ;)

bit of a let-down for Haye

Haye v Harrison

This bout makes a complete mockery of boxing. I hope Haye does him in the first minute.

Haye v Harrison

I agree with Haye lol

Haye v Harrison

......................the Fraud strikes again...........................

Haye v Harrison

.............................Haye would get a better fight from George...........................

Haye v Harrison

It's going to be like watching one of those wildlife progs where the seal is mauled by a killer whale!

Haye v Harrison

David Haye can make some right tw*ttish statements in the press conferences beforehand, like against that massive russian dude he said something like 'I saw something as ugly as him in Lord of the Rings the other day' which I thought was entertaining but quite harsh.

Unfortunately for Audley Harrison, Haye has got it absolutely right this time. I want him to finally end his embarrassment. Harrison has been a joke during his whole career, and it should be funny to watch Haye humiliate him.

Haye v Harrison

Haye v Harrison

Haye 3 stone lighter than Audley.

Should still be good enough to win,but in my opinion Haye has been stupid and given Harrison a chance. If he can stay out of the way for a few rounds and land a few telling shots, the "Hayemaker" could well be in trouble.

Haye v Harrison

I love the quote from Haye in all the biuld up stuff.

'By the time he's thrown that left hand, I'll be at the after party'

lol

I'm not a big boxing fan, well not a fan at all really, but it's got to be Hate hasn't it?

Haye v Harrison

Haye for me in the 5th round. Britain is on a roll at the moment in the heavyweight division. I find it hard to believe the USA have not come up with anybody to regain the title. Fukc me, i remember in the old days you had to knock the yank out to get a draw, especially if it was over there. Neither Haye or Harrison would have been a match for Lennox Lewis at his best. I recall the fight in which LL finally destroyed Tyson. Even I was screaming at the ref to stop the fight as it was so cruel. However back to subject,I reckon Harrison wont be able to handle the Speed and power of DH.

Haye v Harrison

HAYE INSIDE 5 ROUNDS FOR ME.HARRISON IS A JOKE OF A BOXER BUT A VERY NICE DOWN TO EARTH MAN ,CAME DOWN THE BOXING CLUB IN HOUNSLOW HAD TIME TO TALK TO A FEW AND SEEMED ALRIGHT.:sorted:

Haye v Harrison

Haye will win. After all the macho bravado cobblers they've been spouting they'll be hugging at the end and respecting each other (no change there then).

Pure pantomime. How crap is boxing?

Pure pantomime. How crap is boxing?

Very crap nowadays. I think the promoters are desperate to re-live the early 90's phenomenom of Eubank, Watson, Benn, Collins etc but ultimately failing with the current offerings - especially as we have to pay an extra 15 quid to watch it.

As for pantimime - yes definitely. But actually not a very good one - WWE is more entertaining!

Haye v Harrison

According to the radio Harrison didn't throw a punch.

Haye v Harrison

I thought it was going to end up in a 0-0 draw after 2 rounds

Haye v Harrison

Which brother should/does he fight next ?

Haye v Harrison

....................and that s why he is Fraudley............................

Haye v Harrison

Ordinary Audley.

Haye v Harrison

Harrison threw 30 odd punches and landed one jab!! I was embarrassed for him.

Haye v Harrison

Round 1 - sh*t
Round 2 - sh*t
Round 3 - Started and Finished

Haye v Harrison

Ordinary Audley.

Fraudly Harrison more like. That 'performance' was an absolute disgrace. On the defensive from round 1 and had no intention of trying to attack Haye.

Haye v Harrison

It was more one-sided than a gang rape

Haye v Harrison

The Mirror reports that Haye had a little bet on himself to win the match in Round 3. In that case, the first six minutes must have been agonising for him.

Haye v Harrison

The fight was rigged from start to finish. George Groves who fought before and who has Adam Booth (Hayes Trainer) said in his post fight interview that Haye has told him and his family in what round he will knock Harrison out. The first two rounds there was literally under ten punches thrown. The referee even had to step in and tell them to punch was is a disgrace in itself. Haye obviously reached Round three which was his betting round, he waited his time and knocked Fraudley out.

Now I have two main points to discuss. The first is the lack of punches thrown by Fraudley and Haye until round 3. Now Fraudley only connected with one punch in three rounds and Haye didn't come out in his trademark aggresive style and just backed away and let the round's be a draw. This to me looks like both fighters agreed for this outcome. Haye knew he could hammer Harrison and Fraudley wanted a final paycheck. This brings me onto my next point. In all the interviews before the fights, Haye and Fraudley continually barraged abuse at each other. The fight was even called ' The Best of Enemies'. However, to me it looked like the best of friends. Haye went over to Harrison and said a lot in his ear. The fight was worth £10 million pounds and they had both sold every single person in the public down the river. This was supported by Haye saying he would buy a drink for Harrison and that they can be mates when before the fight he said they would never be mates and that he would only visit him in the hospital with some grapes.

This fight was rigged and was a total disgrace to boxing and sport in general and to be honest, I believe every viewer deserves some kind of refund.

Haha, if it was rigged then of course Haye would have been going around telling everyone that he bet on himself to win in the third round and drawing attention to himself. lol were you also posting on the 9/11 was a conspiracy thread too?

Isn't it better to accept the version of events which seem extremely more likely? As I see it, Haye realised that Audley Harrison is an absolute bum, who had no chance of hurting him and who he could destroy in a matter of seconds when he chose to. He put money on himself to win in the third round. He danced about for 2 rounds, and in the third round he destroyed Harrison, winning his bet.

Why would he have bothered to get that bum Audley Harrison involved with a match rigging scandal that if discovered would ruin his life... when in all honesty... he didn't need to pay Audley to take a dive, he could just knock him out when he saw fit. Not everything is a conspiracy. David Haye pocketed £5million from that fight regardless of the outcome, what would be the point in also fixing the result. He had the talent to bet on himself and win, it may be annoying because for the first 2 rounds he wasnt trying... but it's not unethical, and it's definately not a conspiracy.

How is that better? Because Harrison was not complicit? It still looks rigged to me.

I didn't say its better, It may have peeved some people but it is completely within the rules. The fact that Audley was not complicit makes it perfectly legitimate and fair.

Haye bet on himself to win in the third round, and did so. Anyone that knows anything about boxing would tell you that Haye had absolutely no reason to get Audley to take a dive in the 3rd round, he had the ability to destroy Harrison when he saw fit and stay within the rules.

It may not be morally that sound, but ethically it is fine. If Haye had bet on himself to lose he would have had complete control over winning his bet, and that would have ruined his career. The fact that he bet on himself to win in the third, was at worst... just arrogant.

People that have any knowledge of boxing will realise that this sort of thing happens all of the time. Haye could likely have knocked Harrison out in the first round had he tried, and there have always been fights in which the superior boxer has given the other guy an easy few rounds before knocking them out, because the sponsors demand the fight continues long enough for their adverts to get shown. No one gets angry when this happens, so why is Haye deciding for himself when he is going to end the fight any different?

are they allowed to bet then?

No idea to be honest. Doubt he did anything wrong and doubt it came anywhere near the purse for the fight.

Agree with all this. If it was rigged, it would have been more of a panto. Harrison just didn't have it in him.
