Two goals each from Andy Rammell and Darren Currie ensured Wycombe Wanderers became the first team through to the second round of the FA Cup thanks to victory over Hayes on Friday.

But the Blues were pushed all the way by a brave challenge from the Conference outfit.

Rammell gave Wycombe a 24th-minute lead before Kevin Warner equalised with a simple tap-in after a goalmouth scramble.

Hayes then went ahead four minutes before the interval with a Dean Clark penalty only for Currie to level with a 30-yard shot on the stroke of half-time.

Strikes from Rammell and Currie gave Wanderers some breathing space, but Warner added his second with five minutes to go to leave the visitors having to negotiate a nervous finale to a pulsating encounter. </font>

Dean Clark? The Dean Clark? I thought he went to Uxbridge. Always looked a talented player, but I gather he thought he was it and couldn't be bothered to work at his game.

Could someone give Coppell a shout and tell him about last nights MOM. Methinks his name was Paul Warner, nice touches throughout the match and a goal at the end outjumping fat git Taylor.

Great to see REAL football on the box for a change, but i didn't see 1 Hayes player who would be an improvement on what we already have. Dean Clarke looked good for the first hour, but the star was Darren Currie. Surely they can't hold on to him for too much longer?

His name is Kevin Warner, he is a solid performer. He got turned down by Wimbledon when he was a kid cause he was too short. David Warner (scored 3rd goal) is the better of the two though but they are both worth a look.
