Last week I posted an article on the Club’s OS having been moved by the “coming together” of a brilliant TEAM performance, i.e. Players and Supporters alike, in the demolition of our near neighbours SW6.

The first couple of paragraphs saw me waffle on about the number of years I’ve been watching our heroes. However, for those who may have missed it, it continued thus....

... The reason for telling you all this is that last Saturday at Griffin Park, along with around ten and a half thousand Bees fans, I bore testament to one of the best footballing displays I`ve witnessed from our red and white heroes over the years (consistently for almost the entire 90 minutes) and what has moved me even more to put pen to paper is that it was witnessed by probably one of the most supportive crowds I have ever witnessed at our wonderful old stadium. Yes, we`ve had bigger crowds and maybe a few more memorable victories (although Saturday`s 1-0 thrashing of our neighbours is right up there with the best) but the synchronicity between the team and the Bees fans was incredible. That level of support could prove to be decisive as we move into the second half and home straight of this emotional season.

It may be of interest to fans who themselves put in a performance of the highest quality, but which cannot be scientifically measured, to hear of the levels attained by our heroes on the pitch. Following each match the conditioning staff release to the players their HMLD figures, HMLD standing for High Metabolic Load Distance. These figures measure the total amount of high speed running a player does, coupled with the total distance of accelerations and decelerations throughout a session/match. On Saturday, given it was the Bees third match in eight days, as a team it was the second highest total of HMLD this season, second only to the Leeds match. Individually (and I won’t name individual players) one player recorded his highest ever total distance covered and his highest ever sprint distance, one was just 130m short of his best ever distance, another recorded his best ever sprint distance, highest ever number of decelerations and just 5 accelerations short of his best ever, another player was just 41m short of his highest ever accelerations and his best ever high speed recordings. It was also interesting to hear from Josh Dasilva that last week was the first time in his career he had played three games in a week.

The excellent figures go on and on, match by match, and it proves the quality, desire and intent shown by the players in training are manifesting themselves on the pitch on match-days, and in doing so achieving the levels we have become used to.

Now we as fans have to achieve our own record levels of support, to match those of the players on the pitch, if we are to turn our dreams into reality. We know we have the quality on the pitch to match anybody in this League. Lets make sure we now raise our decibels to match those of last Saturday’s match which will remain not just long in the memory but a blueprint for the second half of this incredible season.

So Remember
For Players:
HMLD = High Metallic Load Distance

For Supporters:
HMLD = Home Matches - Loud Decibels

That was last week....a week on and we saw/heard another quality TEAM performance at table toppers WBA last Saturday and the Players’ HMLD results were again of the highest quality. Their performance was matched by a supporters performance by almost 1,500 Bees fans which more than matched that of some 23,400 home fans.

We now know the level of support required (as its been tried and tested) week in week out in support of our heroes. So this is to remind one and all ..... HMLD please on Boxing Day. Loud and Clear.

Happy Christmas to Everyone and here’s wishing you everything you may wish for yourself in 2020.

Inspiring as ever Peter. Happy and healthy new year to you and your family too. This really could be a special year for all of us.

Great post Peter. Thanks for the insight. Thanks for the inspiration. Thanks for your lead and wit at every home match. It's a cliché that teams need leaders on the pitch, but we fans certainly need your leadership on, or just off it. I know you didn't post this message fishing for praise, but I would just like to say anyway, in case you didn't already know, that it's a privilege to listen to your passion, eloquence and deep local knowledge every Saturday in an age where the average stadium announcer is ever more reminiscent of an anodyne late night radio show host.

What he said but with fewer words.

Came away from that Fulham game thinking that I had seen something special and Peter puts it in better words than myself.

Happy Christmas Mr Brentford to you and yours!
How you so eloquently put it, I always aspired to do....get a partisan and VOCAL crowd going at GP, it makes all the difference.
Way back to the POLITE NOTICE and the advent of the NOIZY BOYZ cards, I tried to do my little bit.......So, I'm thrilled that over the last couple of games our dreams at last seem to be coming to fruition.
( Banished forever I hope, are decades of having to endure a few hundred away supporters singing in the echo chamber that was Brook Road, ' You're supposed to be at home' )

A great rallying call Peter.....so, for the second half of the season, and for the last time, let us all ensure that it really is FORTRESS GRIFFIN PARK, and raise those decibel levels..... that well might cheer us to promotion! :bound:

HMLD

As someone observed on Facebook you appeared to drop a ‘bolic’ in your OS message.
You can drop what you like Mr Brentford thank you thank you and a very Merry Christmas.

Tonight we really need to get involved. There are well renown for leave the foot in and their nasty tackles. Watson and Sow in midfield need to know that they won't be able to get away with it from the get go. So let's make sure that tonight GP is not only it noisy self, but also somewhere the the oppo can't take the piss. We need to be pointing out to the ref at everytime these two nasties ply their underhand trade.

Must ensure absolutely no repeat of M'Boro play off semi final.

Even when they haven't done anything everyone at GP needs to let the ref know that something has.

Is Lamouchi the French Colin (sorry, Neil Warnock)?

If the ref gets within earshot during his warm up routine I will advise him to put Watson and Sow into the book before kick off ... save time later

Not quite, but very unadventurous with his central midfield choices, expect a lot of wing play and long balls into the channels

Oh Nana you were so right! Horrible side to play against. Why can't we crack these teams?

Great crowd today. I hear we even managed to persuade an away fan in Paddock that he should leave!

That booking for timewasting after a world record 22 minutes was a win for the crowd.

Shame about the result. Next time....

Are you "permited" to get involved from the "posh seats" or is it frowned upon?

Despite the best efforts of you and I and many others I don't think the braemar lino made a decision all game - may aswell have the linos based in stockley park with the VAR muppets....

He was poor, clearly wasn't up for taking advice. Three times the subbed player was standing almost in front of him and yet he was allowed to cross the pitch rather than leave by the nearest touchline as is the law now.

HMLD

Some 6 or 7 weeks ago I put pen to paper lifting the lid on the team’s HMLD - High Metallic Load Distance - which, if you remember, are figures which measure the total amount of high speed running a player does, coupled with the total distance of accelerations and decelerations throughout a session or match.

The match figures continue to make very impressive reading, and its worth highlighting, following the mightily impressive 5-1 victory at Hull, a selection of stats, in particular from our purring, turbo charged BMW.

You may be able to work out who did what...one of them achieved a sprint distance of 308m, the most he has ever recorded in a match whilst another was only 7m short of his best ever sprint distance in only 80% of game time. The third, HMLD apart, totally tore the hosts to shreds and scored a hat trick!

These impressive HMLD figures were, once again, evident throughout the team.

Now its our turn to impress in our own HMLD - Home Match, Loud Decibels. Lets get all three sides of our fantastic old stadium rocking, not just from the off and throughout the remaining home games, but pre-match also.

Every away game this season, our loyal fans have out-sung the home fans regardless of being outnumbered, and that is recognised and remarked upon by the team back in the dressing room after every game.

One of the reasons is that as fans we like the players to know that we’ve made the effort to be there, and the fact that we are all located in the same area and proximity to each other means that the vocal support is that much better.

So let’s apply that to all of our remaining home matches. Let’s make sure we let the players know we are there and make the three sides of the ground, New Road, Ealing Road and Braemar Road sound as one.

You may have heard me before say that the best support I have ever heard from a home crowd was when we played Middlesbrough in the fateful Championship Play Off Semi Final 2nd Leg back in 2015. I still believe it was totally down to the incredible noise level throughout the 90 minutes from their fans that saw the home side through.

With nine home games remaining lets play our part, even more so, in this amazing, emotional season and what better time to start is this Saturday when Middlesbrough visit. Let your inhibitions go. Your voice really can make the difference and have a domino effect on others. “Come on Brentford”.

Here’s to record HMLD figures for Players and Fans alike!

Let see if we can cheer them on to sprints of 309m all-round today!

You know what to do :sorted:

Indeed.
Thought there seemed like a fair bit of ‘nervousness’ in the crowd at Boro and Leeds games, when the odd pass went astray or moves didn’t quite come off, which transmitted itself onto the pitch.
Just need encouragement today and no negativity, whatever’s happening.
COME ON!!!! WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!
