A pity that we can't get accurate attendance figures EXCLUDING away fans; that would give a better idea of how we are doing at attracting and keeping new followers. I would guess that Peterborough "sold" 3000 of the 11,000 for the free game, while Bury had around a hundred there last night?

This would suggest that of 8,000 who turned up on a Saturday afternoon for a free match, 5,200 returned on a miserable, wet Tuesday evening - a good sign, I would suggest.

Our last home game against Bury was the last game of last season on a Saturday, when the fans tend turn up in numbers to say a farewell to the players on a reasonably nice day plus Bury took a few hundred more than last night. So I reckon about a 1,000 extra bees fans last night than you would expect for a tuesday night game against Bury.
Blackpool game will give a truer reflection on how sucessfull the Peterboro initiative was. Lets hope for excess of 6k.

if we lose at reading around 6500-7,000.

you can see around the ground the return of old faces who look like they are enjoying coming to GP again!!

in e block there were hundreds of kids (half term) with their dads..well done!
There was also loads of young totty (excellent, well done)
Also a lot of asians including kids.
A great job has been done attracting all these people to GP and to win 5.1, you can't ask for more really!

I still think 5300 is a big bloody fiddle.
D and e block sold out, wendy house sold out, NR 60-70% full. Away end no more than 3000 light on capacity.
Where were the other 4000 empty seats then?

Were they sitting in a block of 60? If so that was down to Hey Jude XI who played Hounslow Wanderers a few weeks ago. Hounslow are a mainly Asian side, it was a follow up to the Bees - India game in July. The club gave Hounslow 60tickets through the supporters team, that why E Block had lots of Asians in there. So you can thank us!!

New Road was nowhere near 60-70% full I'm afraid, more like 40% - and considering that A,B,and C blocks of Braemar probably had no more than 50 people between them, and that the Ealing was practically empty, 5389 seems a little more realistic. I reckon 3200 spaces for Bury fans were empty, plus 1000 in New Rd empty, plus 500 in Braemar empty, as well as the seats that can't be used at all, leaves 5389 looking possibly a little bit light, but not massively.

If you say New Road was 40% full and there were 1000 empty seats, that makes the capacity of that stand 1,666. Using that logic around the ground, the capacity of GP would be about 5,000 and we therefore exceeded capacity on Tuesday and for nearly every game this season.

I don't know that exact figure but New Road holds around 3,800 and it looked under half full on Tuesday, plus Braemar Road, which holds roughly 4,500 was under half full also.

Despite what people want to say, the figures given are accurate, they are electronically counted in the police box in the Brook Road on entry..

I have to say that blocks C, D and E, plus the Paddock looked 95% full from Brook Road upstairs. If that's less than half full, where the hell do they put everyone when it's full?

...I stopped doing maths 4 months ago...didn't realise how fast I'd go downhill!
