When I was but a wee young teenager I did FIC course and was training with him... you may think this would be fun for a wide eyed youngster, however it was more teary eyed  youngster as I gazed forlornly on the next pitch where Deano was taking the drills

There was always two people who thought paul buckle was a great footballer...his dad and him!

To be fair he was part of the 91 championship squad but never really was up to much. Christ I am getting old now

Strictly speaking the Championship sqad was 92 ...although many were the same in 91  Or maybe I am just being picky, or maybe it was obvious and I should shut up :imwith:

My first match was August '91, and amongst my memories is what a poor match Buckle played - and all the people around me in the Paddock telling Buckle just what they thought of him.

That's right. I remember giving him a tonne of abuse when they played Hayes in the cup at Craven Cottage. That is, until a big hatted, yellow jacketed man told me that it would be in my interests to stop. :(

Scored against us for Fulham.

Paul Buckle made his debut, along with Matt Howard, against York City, last game of the 1987/88 season. I was twelve. I believe women and children were admitted without charge for this game.:)

I remember him scoring away to Preston on the plastic pitch, in the championship season. We lost 3-2.:(

I feel old. :(

There is a faint smell of wee in the air.

The Grim Reaper is making plans for our meeting.:(

FACT - his only spell in the big time.

He gave me a proper stare in that game after I reminded him of a few things in the paddock - nothing changes :D. Gutted we lost it - a hopeful 30 yard punt from Stant whacked off Evans' thigh and then looped over Benstead. Even Rostron's winner the next week at Craven Cottage couldn't make up for it.
