Seeing that the club are recruiting someone to head up the HR function I was amazed at how many people the club employ and with the statement that the number of employees is due to grow in the coming years. A heart warming statement of intent in a time when so many clubs are struggling.

*slightly* concerned that 'HR Business Partner' (with an admin assistant and a third-party adviser) is too low-level, salary/experience-wise, for the size of the role. Interesting that salary isn't mentioned. Also, any job description that asks for a 'good sense of humour' is worrying/cringey! BUT excellent news that the club/trust/CEO is keen to have proper employee relations & proper recruitment protocols.

Not surprised we lose money on catering. They had run out of all hot food in New Road on Sunday by half time? I'd have thought that is peak selling time. Never quite understand how that happens.

I remember a night (well I don't really) many years ago on ESB. As you say, it goes down easy. Too easy. I got up to leave and was unable to put one foot in front of the other. Got helped out the pub and started to sway home. I wasn't too far away when I came across sloping ground, which I'd never ever noticed. The slope of the ground, felled me like a falling tree, but in slow motion. I remember laughing hysterically as I rolled down a hill. Can't remember anything else after that, but, just like druggie, I somehow made it home. Lager drinker ever since.

Draft ESB if well kept would be great, presumably beer will be drunk through the week with non football events and not just once a fortnight which would likely affect the quality.

we have nobody in HR and everyone gets on just fine without them.

We then had a change at the top.The new CEO brought in the HR director from his previous company. Over the next 2 years HR became the fastest growing department in the business. They ended up with circa 6 staff and 2 consultants working full time. Madness! They added no value at all and brought in non disclosure agreements for those leaving the business.

It depends on the HR person I guess.

HR are there to ensure the company acts within the law to their employees.
They are also a tool for both employer and employee.
They are there to help if a staff member feels aggrieved by managers etc.

They are also key to when companies implement new strategies, they ensure they are lawful and all correct stages are taken in the best interests of both employer and employee.

As I said I guess it’s down to the individual, I know some HR people will get a power trip etc and also act like tits on behalf of the company they work for.

Ooh what?!!! If this is to be the case my concerns about the future proximity of the ground to The Beehive will become a thing of the past. Although I worry about the future of this pub and others to the west of Griffin Park, and feel guilty at the prospect of having to withhold my matchday custom, news of the advent of this ambrosia to our future place of worship can only serve to heighten my childlike excitement about the move.

Yes I guess in some circumstances they could be but there wasn't really a lot of Intellectual Property in the business I was involved with.

We have 250 employees and an HR function of 7 full time staff including a 'job coach' whatever the heck that entails - absolute joke

A French company I worked for (and that was one of the largest provider of HR systems in Europe) forbade the HR function as is was part of a manager’s responsibility and was not to be devolved.

I went up to the BR kiosk to grab a chicken balti pie and this was before the HT whistle to be told "we've run out"?!

It was midway through this season. Huddersfield wnd up offering left over pies for like £1 outside their ground after games.
