Hunt's Form

Despite being one of the only players to perform whilst the Wally was in charge Hunt has worried me ever so slightly since MA's arrival as his performances have not been as influential IMHO. Anyone got any thoughts and/or picked up on this themselves ?

Hunt's Form

i have pickedup on itbut its notlike he is playing bad, its just he has less riding on him and can take a well earned brake,as all the players around him have improved. anyway this is just nit picking the whole team deserve a giant pat on the back

Does that mean a kid kicked him in the goolies?

He may not have been in top form since MA's arrival, but he's still doing enough for it not to worry me.

I just hope we can keep him for another year

He's probably been our least impressive player recently, but that may be because of our high expectations, and an injury.

In the last year he has been our hardest working player, which has been obvious. Now, with everyone else working their nuts off too, it isn't as obvious.

Don't get me wrong, I would buy the whole team a round or two if I had the chance, MA might even get 2 beers ! ;)

It just came to mind when I was looking at some stats yesterday in the 'Football First' paper and Hunt has won 80 free kicks for us over the season and it got me thinking as to how important he is in that respect and thats not even taking into account him being our top scorer. Anyhow I take Ed's word, as he is alot more upto speed with all things Bees than me, so thats prob answered my query.

I think under Wally, there was a tendency just to give Hunty the ball and let him to the bulk of the attacking work. Under Mad Dog, the other players seemed to have accepted a lot more responsibility in this area so Hunt is seeing a bit less of the ball and some might say, having a well-earned rest!

Agree with most of the above.

I dont think Hunty has been that bad lately, just that others have impressed more than he has for a change.

He is still worth his place in the side without a doubt.

He is due a goal or two though.....................please.

MA has the team playing as a team which has meant that Hunty does not have to hare around like a headless chicken making up for everyone else.

Hunt's Form

I think he's probably not been helped by MAs tendency to make him swap wings with Tabb and play in other positions but he's still probably our most creative player and as such should be first on the team sheet..

Edmundo is right - Hunt has been suffering from a groin injury for some time now. Hunt was quiet on Saturday, but the injury would explain this.

He's probably tired out from having to do a lot of the work for the most part of the season. And this has been made worse by his minor groin injury.

Whilst I would agree with all the previous input, there were signs on Saturday that all is not well with Stephen... he was booked for 1 of his fairly blatant dives, and then reacted with some petulance to being taken off later on... This may be just frustration at own performance not up to normal standard, but maybe something else?

I'll admit that one of the first thing that jumped out at me from the result (beyond of course 'the result') was that Hunty was off after 60 min. Unthinkable under WD, when he was 75% of our attack.

Agree, mentioned it after the Rushden game that he almost seems to be too fired up ! When 8 and 9 others haven't performed over the last year he has carried the mantle of playmaker, goalscorer and inspirer.
Maybe the fact that others are now playing he can relax a bit and get back to skinning full backs

We will know soon enough after season's end, with MA there seems to be no half measures. As a player you are either with him 100% or out............

The letter from Allen of the OS answers most of the points.

He does look like a player that hasn't been training. I just hope there isn't lasting damage.

I shouldn't imagine so, look at Rowlands who has managed to recover after playing injured at us for long periods.
