Hunt's long throw
Are we the only team who haven't worked out how to make use of a long throw in? Every throw we get within his range goes straight to the Goalie!!

I thought you were going down the club.........![]()
No it isn't - but you started it in the wrong forum.PS. This thread is in the wrong forum
See above.Who started it![]()
i recommend the 4th throw We have been really poor ever since Hunt came into the side

I can't believe they don't practice these in training![]()
According to Nathan, when I asked him at Bournemouth, they do practice them and 9 times out of 10 they pay off.

The players should watch endless videos of Stoke City to see how they take such good advantage of Delap's throws.
The temptation for the thrower is to launch the ball as far a possible which generally ends up with it on the defenders head or in the keepers hands. The key IMHO is accuracy - a bit like a rugby lineout. Hence training should be for Hunt to consistently hit a spot and for the players to be on that spot either for a flick-on over the advancing keeper/defender or a full attempt on goal.

A bit harsh ?
Mind you weren't we told Kev was back for Bratford ?...........his injury must be a LOT worse than expected, he doesn't even make the bench now![]()
I don't really rate him. Good throws (they mount to nothing, don't know who is to fault there), good free kick, makes the odd good tackle, but nothing much else tbh.
Without the (direct) contribution of David Hunt we would be on 77 points right now, if it's not squeaky bum time now, how would you fancy going into the last two games with 77 points? . Apart from Scoring against Wycombe and Gillingham he was arguably our best player in two extremely crucial games. He definitely has played his part and the throws you never know might come good when we need them too.
Sorry but thats crap![]()
our worst run of the season combined with witnessing the poorest games have been when he came into the side (or on the other hand since Kevs been out)
Ikie i HuntY tOO> Netherthelesoo,,, KoCo wood be a welcome returnee....

Hunt has played well since he has come into the side and played a vital part in securing some key points that have us sitting where we are.
I agree that we miss Kev and Hunt's throws don't have a massive impact but to say that he has been 'rubbish' or our bad form is down to his involvement is short sighted and wrong!![]()
You cannot say that at all - how can you say that if Hunt hadn't scored those free kicks we wouldn't have scored by other means? You are going into the 'what ifs' territory, which is not advisable.
Tbh, I didn't see too many games early season (i.e. when Kevin O'C was playing), but more recently Hunt has looked OK to me in his general play - nothing special, but hardly a 'passenger', either.Agree....apart fromn his goals he has also laid on another two.
Indeed. I suspect it may not be coincidence that the Bees have lost 3 (4?) strikers to injury in the last few weeks i.e. the guys who might have been being drilled on the training pitch by Andy Scott to get on the end of those throw-ins, or the flick-ons resulting from them? The long throw failures is not down to him...someone must attack the ball for it to work and that is not happening so not his fault
