I have read that Burnley are releasing a few players including Ian Cox.Is he the centre back that use to play for Bournemouth?If so,I seem to remember him as a very useful player, and if we are going to be losing Sonko or Roget I would have thought that he would be an ideal ready made replacement.Any other thoughts?

He would be very good at this level, but I suspect his wage demands would far outstrip what we would be prepared to pay, and if Sonko is to sign we wouldn't want three expensive centre halfs when we are only going to play 2.

Yes, we tried to buy him off Palace before Bournemouth nicked him, I think back in the Webb days. Damn shame cos he was a great defender, not sure if he has still got it though, but would still be a good signing I think.

He'll want mega-bucks - so it's a no go.
