If only the board had put Scott in charge from the start not saying we would be in the play offs but we would not been at the bottom of the league ,not been so many bad signing and been in a better shape all round

Seriously though the change in our play has been good. LR got some of the luckiest results you have ever seen whereas Fitz has been having no luck. You all know what I mean.

It's odd isn't it. Fitz seems to have so much more of an idea about how to set up a football team but no more success.

We lose 1-0 to Donny and could have been 4-0 and then Crewe come and beat us 4-0 and it could have been 10 under LR. We lose 4-0 to Donny and yet you feel there was something to cling on to under Fitz and then we lose 4-1 to Millwall and you don't understand how. It's more than odd it's a complete headfeck.

Being a lucky manager is almost as vital as being a good manager. What use is someone who never gets any luck - or do you make your own!!

Personally, I think all this stuff about us playing better under Fitz is claptrap. OK, we may have played better in some of the games than we did when we were stuffed 4-0 at home under Leroy but on average the quality of the performances under both managers was similar - only difference is that Fitz's results of 6 points from 12 games is significantly worse than Leroys of 17 points in 18 !! I hardly think you can describe Rosenior as being lucky when he lost half of the squad through injury for most of the time he was here.

Fitzgerald will be judged at the end of the season on his results over the 28 league games he will have been in charge for. An average of a point a game or less would be no basis to give him the job permanently however nice a bloke he is. (although nothing would surprise me about this club any more).

.

Trust me now, we should have lost 10-1 at Scunny, been out of sight at Brighton and I'm too tired to go into the others. I rarely miss a game and the competitive scrapping we are seeing under Fitz is 100 times better than the crap we saw under LR. Look at the loan player and freebies brought in by Fitz and that tells you all you need to know. I'm not saying Fitz is the answer but IMO it doesn't take a genius to see that we are far more competitive under Fitz and that LR was useless and used all our luck up in the first few weeks of the season.

Loan players brought in by Fitz. Reasonably unimpressed I'm afraid. I'd have been more impressed if he had made the decision to keep Cox who made 2 goals in the FA Cup for Reading yesterday whilst playing in his favoured position of "striker" !! Maybe if Coxy had eaten a few more pies, he might have found more favour with Fitz.

We were crap under Leroy and we are still just as crap under Fitz. Let me know when we are due to score an away goal. The last 5 goalless games away have been under Fitz ! We played a team at home yesterday who have one of the worst away records in the division. Their keeper didn't have a save to make.

Frankly, I'm flummoxed that so many people think he has the attributes to make a go of it. Where is the evidence ?

At Yeovil, Bournemouth and according to others at Carlisle where we stopped being complete jokes and looked like a team for the 1st time in months. Then throw in the last 3 home games and like I have said a few times we are competitive again. We were a complete p!sstake when Fitz took over but I don't think we are as easy a pushover now and are at least going down with a bit of fight.

You're not seriously suggesting that Cox would have been a a better bet than Shipperley are you? Unfit and overwight he may be, but he did more in his link up play in one half than Cox did in his half a dozen or so games. Cox was a headless chicken as far as I'm concerned.

Keith has impressed me - good quality on the ball but needs to do more. Leary I'd love to have as a permanent signing, seems a very athletic player who'll get better with games. Partridge - the jury's out - excuse the pun - but didn't look much as far I could see.

If only

I don't know. I've only seen Shipperley for 70 minutes so far. I liked Cox and I think he could have done a job for us.

Thierry Henry couldn't keep us up in our current position so it is irrelevant. Cox would have been cheaper though !!

I have only seen Partridge once when he didn't play well, have yet to see Wilson (although I expect he will be fine), Leary has done OK (although no better than Cox in my opinion). Keith has been tidy but not influential and unfortunately the results are not getting any better!

I'd give it up mate.. Fitz is a shoe-in for the job for next year, regardless of results or performance, the 'selection' panel owe it to him for the farcical way he was appointed. He is being given every chance financially by the club to make up and PG is practically sucking his c@ck when he interviews him.. Get ready for a comfortable mid-table position in League 2 next season... :(

Note to Chip, don't listen to the negative people on here. We have been getting better and far more competitive for many weeks now and had Fitz been in charge from the start we wouldn't be where we are. That can never be proved but that is my opinion, the truth is that we are a far better team in a short space of time and it is all done to Fitz even if others can't see it.

It would be interesting to see how he'd have got on with the budget restrictions that Leroy had, we certainly wouldnt be seeing the likes of Shipperley here.. No doubt we'll find out next season! :D

I don't know how much Wijnhard was on but if you add him and Fola you get a Shipperley I reckon. He didn't have Charlie Ide to call on of course because he was shipped out on loan. I'd also be very surprised if Leary is on more than Pinault.

Leroy made some awful signings, budget restrictions or not.

possibly the most insightful post ever...obvious, yet unsaid

Much as a nice man Leroy was, him and John Griffin should never "get together" again as they made some woeful signings. In hindsight Scott Fitz would probably have done a better job but then again, we wouldn't have raised the Fighting Chance appeal and shamed the Directors into matching it. We would have got in other players at the start of the season and definately not got Shipps. Yes, agreed we would more likely not be languishing at the bottom but I for one am enjoying what we have now and although my money has been on us going down since the Millwall drubbing, I hope we don't or if we do, at least make a bloody good fight of it :)

OK lets throw the arguement into the fire!!! Leroy did indeed make some seriously shocking loan signings and more permanent deals as well. However we all seem to forget that he also signed a certain player that goes by the name of Jo Kuffour!!! Arguable the most talented and impressive player that we have.

He also brought in Heywood who Fitz has said he is "missing" but hey what the hell.

WE ARE STAYING UP!!!!!!!!!!!

Good work Fitz, if only they had appointed you instead of a certain Mr Rosenior!!!!!

UP THE BEES!!!!
