"You can't handle the truth"An impressive pre -season of Doom & Glooming from @HerefordB so far?
He may play against Watford next week.Be very suprised if Toney plays for us again for those saying he’s still here,we haven’t risked saleable assets like that before.
He is still on Holiday till the 5th August, so no chance IMO.He may play against Watford next week.
Unless he refuses of course.
Not at all. You're one of the most negative posters on here, especially when we're losing. It's just the way you are.Ooer. You're far too sensitive.
Apparently they don’t wish our opponents to know what our injury situation is. Also if my memory serves me correctly there were pleas from the club a few years ago for us not to discuss injuries or tactics on the GPG as opponents were reading it and using it against usI can't remember the last time the club proactively decided to publish an injury on the website. They rarely (if ever) do it. Usually it spills out in press conferences or through ITK journalists. Any thoughts on why they decided to do it here?
Be very suprised if Toney plays for us again for those saying he’s still here,we haven’t risked saleable assets like that before.
If the injury is deemed to bee bad, why the fek is he in Portugal?
And then they walk away and we say "er, no, sorry about that, come back please"...Helps us with Toney negotiations. Well you say that but we need a striker at the moment and each place is worth several million. So you will need to pay us the difference if you want him
€30 million on a replacement striker. Plays half a match, scores two goals, then we find that like most new signings, in that good old Brentford tradition he's out injured. Possibly for six months. I was quite depressed about this. Then I read your comment. Your slant on this is probably the most positive thing ever to be written and I'd like to commission you to design the world's first never ending beer glass. I know you can do this.Probably just as well because it avoids the mass hysteria if he doesn’t immediately start matches and hit scoring form.
Has six months been realistically discussed?€30 million on a replacement striker. Only in speculation. Hence my use of the word "possibly". Realistically I don't think anything's been discussed or revealed. He could be back in training tomorrow if the scan shows it was just a trapped jellybaby, or he could be out for five years if it's found he needs a leg replacement and has to wait for a doner with a limb of the the correct length and girth. I think the average length of a Brentford injury is about a season. But I'm staying positive and going with the jellybaby theory.Has six months been realistically discussed?
He might possibly get sepsis during an operation and lose a leg - to quote my wife, who knows about these things - he'll likely fail to recover from that.Only in speculation. West Mid and efficient? Isn't that what's called an oxymoron?Still no news. Hopefully been triaged by now. Although it was eight hours until Mrs Fielding next door got seen last night. Even then she just got sent home with Paracetamol. Hopefully West Mid is more efficient.

Personally, I’d steer clear of any doner that has legs…..Only in speculation. Hence my use of the word "possibly". Realistically I don't think anything's been discussed or revealed. Did they? Blimey. No wonder the poor bloke's still sitting there. Language barrier I guess?I thought they said scan was next week?
Ok, so why put out that he needs more scans to determine the problem, if scans are needed then he should be in the scanner pronto, not eating friggin custard tarts in Portugal IMHO.It is a meniscus so straight away not a ligament that means major opp and a years rehab. So keeping active is often the best way to deal with it, no point sitting at home when you could be in Portugal going to the gym and hanging with your mates. All he would be doing here is working in the gym anyway so he can do that there.
Do we know where he is going to get the scans done? Could it be possible they have scanners and medical professionals outside of the UK?Ok, so why put out that he needs more scans to determine the problem, if scans are needed then he should be in the scanner pronto, not eating friggin custard tarts in Portugal IMHO.
I expect he had a scan in Portugal but often there’s a more detailed scan after any swelling has calmed down. That it is being done on his return and he remains with the squad does feel like it’s not so serious as potentially needing surgery.Do we know where he is going to get the scans done? Could it be possible they have scanners and medical professionals outside of the UK?
It was stated that he will have further scans this week, they return to UK after the match on Monday, so my point being is, IF they thought it was that serious they would have flown him back to UK and on that, I agree with @jloveDo we know where he is going to get the scans done? Could it be possible they have scanners and medical professionals outside of the UK?
I'd like to think you're right. Is it possible the club is yanking everyone’s chains on this?
The possible unavailability of his replacement has already has had commentators shift their narrative about Ivan from “Brentford’ll need to drop his price” to “Brentford may resist a move”.
Along with limited news about Henry and Hickey, the rumour of Norgaard being sold, upcoming opponents may underestimate us as being weakened from last season and won’t get that impression taken away by seeing Thiago ripping up top level opponents in preseason and may see any tactical innovations in preseason as being just ways for us to eke out the depleted squad. Then BAM five straight wins to start the season.
Let’s hope you’re spot onIs it possible the club is yanking everyone’s chains on this?

I would too.I'd like to think you're right.
When they return I would have thought.Did they? Blimey. No wonder the poor bloke's still sitting there. Language barrier I guess?

I don't get hysterical bud, the club said he would need scans to determine the depth of the problem.GPG hysteria in full motion.
They have told us it is a meniscus, so it isn't a cruciate ligament which is the one that put JDS and Rico out for a year, so take a breath on that. When I did my my meniscus in January I hobbled into the physio unable to put any weight on my left leg, I couldn't bend it or walk. The physio twisted and turned it for about 20-30 seconds and said, its not a ligament, its a Meniscus, either torn or bruised. Go to the gym tomorrow and get on a bike and start moving it and building up the area. I was walking normally within days and back to new in a few weeks.
I am a 57 year old man who wanted to make sure I wasn't going to do something stupid to make it worse, If scanning gives them even more data to make sure he comes back quicker then they are always going to do it. It doesn't mean we are sweating on some career ending injury so if the pain is limited he will be walking around and doing gym work.
Given the choice, be in Portugal with the team doing gym work and rehab whilst joining in all the other fun with the lads, or sitting at home on my own and visiting a random physio once a day, I know what most people would prefer. I suspect all the Brentford physio staff are out there anyway.
Yes you are, running around with pencils up your nostrils, screaming at the moon ?????I don't get hysterical bud, the club said he would need scans to determine the depth of the problem.
Therefore it is not known how bad it is until he has those scans, therefore I commented, a bit tongue in cheek.
Regardless of how your meniscus resolved itself, I repeat the above, it is not known how bad it is (going by club statement).
Your post above is all about if's and but's, I sincerely hope you are correct and that it is minor.
Fek me and you say I am hysterical, having seen some of your posts in the past, well, I will stop at that!!.
Another frigin thread that could have ended up in an argument.
I think the Ivan Toney thread is on the brink of a pointless argument…Another frigin thread that could have ended up in an argument.
Blimey your recovery time from injury is supersonic, can you play centre forward?GPG hysteria in full motion.

We're just cursed Old B. If you supported any other club this wouldn't have happened. Even us fans are getting injured now.In comparison to mhead b I had meniscus repair surgery in November 2023, still hobbling now and definitely can’t run. All about how serious the issue is, which of course none of us plebs will be party to.
When/who said he had a scan yesterday please? Not loving the lack of update after supposedly his scan yesterday! Wonder if they've sent him for surgery and will share the news once they know how successful it's been...
