Did he get a standing ovation ??????
where was Bliss and Bent today?
..............a half time guest............
Always gave a 100% and did well for us.Absolute hero Ije
wowIjah getting all coked up before the game today remembering his time at Brentford and that day at Cambridge United.
Emotional.
Always a solid team player, but my memories of him are due to a guy that always decided to sit next to me in the paddock at Griffin Park. He told me that he had been at school with Ijah and would always callout to him " Hey Elijah I'm here supporting you". This was always acknowledged.Thought he spoke with genuine emotion & eloquence before kick-off. Good player back in the day. Has a genuine passion & affiliation for the club.
Did they search his wallet?Noticed Ijah in S106 this evening and just said "alright Ijah?" as he walked past, he spent the next 5 mins or so chatting with us like we were old friends. Top man!
Ijah is a genuine lovely fella.Noticed Ijah in S106 this evening and just said "alright Ijah?" as he walked past, he spent the next 5 mins or so chatting with us like we were old friends. Top man!
Didn’t he have a fallout with Wally Downes?Wonder if he ever looks back and wonders if it could have worked out differently at the Bees? Never really did anything else of note in the game after leaving us. (transfer request if i remember correctly).
Obviously loves the club and i assume hes at most games?
Andy Frampton.Didn’t he have a fallout with Wally Downes?
If I remember correctly, he was succeeded by the legendary Matt Somner.
What great days...
December 2003. It was bad on the pitch.I am still traumatised by Somner’s performance at Telford. One of the worst ever.
Somner was on about £300pw, Ijah about £1,300. That’s why. It was a relegation budget in 2003/2004 and what Martin Allen did at the end of that season was quite frankly a minor miracle.Of course, anyone that knows their onions would tell you that Frampton only became first choice under Martin Allen in 2004.
Limited beyond belief, but had a decent career.
Things were strange after Coppell left, but quite how Somner was chosen above Ijah must be one of the most bizarre things that has ever happened at the club, even taking into account the Wally Downes factor.
Appearance feeSo if Ijah was contracted, why not play him?
But unbelievably, for the second time this weekend, I actually find myself in agreement with you.
Happy days!
Trying to force him out I guess. They paid up his contract and he joined Bristol Rovers. So if Ijah was contracted, why not play him?
