Busy jacket, top boy, will always be welcome at Brentford part of a wonderful era!

Ijah Anderson

where was Bliss and Bent today?

Ijah Anderson

Was he wearing loon pants?

Ijah Anderson

Proper Huggy Bear attire last week at GP. Very dapper.

Ijah Anderson

Nice guy too. Met him several times during the 1998/99 season and he was always happy to stop for a chat.

Ijah Anderson

I had the pleasure of spending time with him watching the Fulham play off final in the Inverness.
Absolute top bloke. I had a really long chat with him. He loves the club.
I had to apologise to him for slagging him off one game. I gave him stick. He turned around and gave it to me back. 2 minutes later he got subbed.
When I told him the story he said no problem..you did me a favour...I was having a mare.
?

Ijah Anderson

Obviously has had some tough times, so was a bit of an uncomfortable watch to be honest.
All best wishes to him from me.

Ijah Anderson

Thought he spoke with genuine emotion & eloquence before kick-off. Good player back in the day. Has a genuine passion & affiliation for the club.

Always a solid team player, but my memories of him are due to a guy that always decided to sit next to me in the paddock at Griffin Park. He told me that he had been at school with Ijah and would always callout to him " Hey Elijah I'm here supporting you". This was always acknowledged.

I never thought of him as an Elijah, but made sense.

Ijah Anderson

Noticed Ijah in S106 this evening and just said "alright Ijah?" as he walked past, he spent the next 5 mins or so chatting with us like we were old friends. Top man!
Ijah is a genuine lovely fella.

Brentford runs through his veins.

Ijah Anderson

Wonder if he ever looks back and wonders if it could have worked out differently at the Bees? Never really did anything else of note in the game after leaving us. (transfer request if i remember correctly).

Obviously loves the club and i assume hes at most games?

Didn’t he have a fallout with Wally Downes?

If I remember correctly, he was succeeded by the legendary Matt Somner.

What great days...

It would clearly pain me greatly to disagree on this, but according to the “Timeless Bees” book by Graham Haynes and Frank Coumbe, Frampton “joined Brentford in October 2002. For the rest of that season he made a few appearances at left-back and centre-back but was unable to dislodge Matt Somner.”

That would make sense, as Somner appeared 40 times to Frampton’s 12.

I am still traumatised by Somner’s performance at Telford. One of the worst ever.

Ijah Anderson

Of course, anyone that knows their onions would tell you that Frampton only became first choice under Martin Allen in 2004.

Limited beyond belief, but had a decent career.

Things were strange after Coppell left, but quite how Somner was chosen above Ijah must be one of the most bizarre things that has ever happened at the club, even taking into account the Wally Downes factor.

Somner was on about £300pw, Ijah about £1,300. That’s why. It was a relegation budget in 2003/2004 and what Martin Allen did at the end of that season was quite frankly a minor miracle.

So if Ijah was contracted, why not play him?

But unbelievably, for the second time this weekend, I actually find myself in agreement with you.

Happy days!

Trying to force him out I guess. They paid up his contract and he joined Bristol Rovers.
