International Break

[Downbeat Bee]

One downside of being in our league are the international breaks. 5 September looked a bad fallow Saturday until I saw Wincanton v Salisbury FC.

Interesting to look at a our results prior to and after the International breaks this season:

Out of 4 breaks our record the game before the break has been 1 draw and 3 defeats after the 'rest' it's been 3 wins and a draw.......
Not sure what this might mean.....perhaps the relative lack of strength in depth of our squad compared to the 'big' teams in the division means we run out of steam and really appreciate the chance to recharge our batteries.......

Dean Smith's comments regarding International Break after Forest game:

"We have used the international break well to become a more organised team and become harder to play against,”

“Lasse Vibe looks refreshed and he has come back from international duty with a lot of confidence. It was a big boost for him and we are pleased for him. We are proud of all our players who go on international duty."

It's been the same for the last few years now. Three breaks before Christmas and one break after. It can help sometimes, especially getting players over niggly injuries.
