Hello fellow Yank! I just searched Introduction and this thread came up and just thought I would put that I am a new Bees fan as well having watched us the latter part of last season and am enjoying this season so far as well. Live in the southern part of the States, work in guidance at a local school, and am looking forward to getting involved.

Finally ponied up for the Peacock subscription. I did not realize how many games would not be on regular television here in the states. I will be able to catch every Bees match for the rest of the season.
Also, what radio station regularly carries Bees commentary throughout the week? I’d like to tune in and catch a few things over the air but google did not return any positive results. Is there a dedicated Bees station?

I should have done it earlier, it’s cheap enough. Just one of those things that I didn’t want to have death by a thousand subscriptions. I’ve also been indisposed the last few weekends, but should be free from here in out (I’ll at least use the game as my excuse!).

That’s a tough call. I’ve seen both live and prefer Micky & the motorcars in person but would probably choose RK for the radio.

Upstate NY. Went to Texas a few times when living in England. Been to Lubbock, Dallas, Houston, Galveston, Wichita Falls, but nowhere in the SW parts.

Wade Bowen is one of my absolute favorites. Had the pleasure of meeting him once and seeing him many times (he attended the university in my hometown, so he was always around.
Born and raised in Lubbock, never thought someone on this site would have known it existed, much less visited! It’s not for everyone, but it’s home. Next time you’re in Dallas, first one’s on me.

There is a reason for my visits to Lubbock - Buddy Holly. Even saw a football game at Texas Tech against El Paso. Did you go to High School where Buddy Holly was a student?

There isn't a dedicated radio station for Brentford coverage unfortunately. Maybe one day "The Bees Radio Network" will be a thing but not at this time.
Over here BBC Radio London cover some of our games but the commentary is not available online, presumably due to rights issues. BBC Radio 5 Live and Talksport also cover some of our games.

Joe Ely covered a few Townes Van Zandt songs and I think TVZ returned the favour. TVZ must have been one of the greatest song writers of all time. Certainly one of my favourites. Joe Ely appears prominently in the TVZ documentary Be Here to Love Me - Wikipedia

I know his son (Mark) and grandson (they lived behind me when I was growing up).
I haven't seen either Jamie Lin or The Trishas (the Lord knew it'd make you too jealous!).
That's a good reason to visit! I did not attend the same high school as Buddy, went to a small private school in town.

Went to Texas and Tennessee on my honeymoon, starting at Dallas (a friend of mine lives in Denton) and driving to Austin while stopping by Waco as a friend teaches at Baylor.

Yes he did. He originally recorded prior to Clovis in Nashville for Decca under contract. Even before this he recorded at The Nesman Studios in Wichita Falls, Texas. The very earliest stuff when he was around 14 years old were recorded at the radio station in Lubbock. Buddy also recorded an early version of Maybe Baby at an airforce base in Oklahoma while on tour.

Lubbock, about 150 miles north of Odessa - I have family that lives in Midland/Odessa, though.

Same, just about everyone is pumped for the first time in LONG time. Thank god there isn't relegation in college football, because we would have been in League 2 trying to climb out! Really awesome that you are aware of TTU and even who our hire is. This place is pretty damn cool.
Maybe I'll make a few Red Raiders fans out of Bees, ha.
Edit: Looking at your avatar, I'd say you're a happy man pulling Lincoln out of Oklahoma. Fantastic hire (he's a Red Raider as well).
