Signs from Burnley on a 4 year contract with a club option of a further year.

Proper signings that is. 8 goals for Burnley is not to be sniffed at, I think he’ll add good competition for places and hopefully we can bring the best out of him consistently.

Jaidon Anthony

Exactly. It's one thing scoring goals when you play for a decent side, but to do it in a crap team is noteworthy.
Indeed. Same for Callum Wilson.

Something that has been overlooked is the volume of good chances we create. We’re a top end justice league team.

We’ve signed players from bottom 6 justice league clubs. How many more might they be capable of with our ability to create significantly more goal scoring chances.

Welcome Jaidon. Enjoy your stay.

Another lad with a genuine smile and the JDS seal of approval. What’s not to like?
I like the signing but Nelson also had this so maybe not the sign of class we hope it is :ROFLMAO:

would likely be considered a more erotic exotic signing if he was anthony jaidon, a french wonderkid

this english 'imposter' will do very well for us

welcome to the be(e)st club in west london

Sorry to put a downer on this but Messi has now in this World Cup matched Anthony’s haul of 8 goals and 3 assists over a PL season. You don’t wanna go up, Brentford!

Jaidon Anthony

Watched this guy a few times while he was at Leeds and looked good, not a bad return either from last season in a side that struggled to score goals.
Welcome to Brentford Jaidon

Jaidon Anthony

What we don’t know yet is he the answer or is he the back up, hope the latter and hoping for more deals this summer , but welcome onboard!

Jaidon Anthony

This strengthens squad depth and he’s proven in the premier league, it makes perfect sense.

He looked a decent choice in Fantasy football, despite Burnley languishing in relegation places. Looking forward to seeing him play for us.

Great aquad signing! wouldn't be happy if it was a schade replacement.

Struggling to understand the lukewarm reaction to Anthony being a starting XI player.
The whole point of the Brentford model is to see something in players that others don’t, and to maximise the upside.

We’re highly unlikely to beat half (three-quarters?) of the league in pure financial direct competition for a player. Therefore, we have to offer those, who would be signed as squad players by others, the incentive that they are considered first XI with us because we’ve spotted something, and truly believe they are.

Don’t think it’s a case of blowing smoke up average (for Premier League) players’ backsides just to get them to sign. Feel it’s because Giles, Dykes & Benham genuinely think there’s more to a player than other clubs see.

Excellent post.. That is exactly how it is mate

Decent signing will provide good competition to schade potter nunes down the left wing.
Could see nunes going out on loan again.

Great comment and another thing to mention with respect to the financial competition... I think its fair to say that he is on much lower wages than the vast majority of other players in the league based on who the teams he's played with are. I'm not convinced that Burnley had him on a high wage so it's great to have a new signing that fits into our wage structure well.
