Great news. Let's hope he's given a chance next year... along with Dallas too.

A midfield of Dallas - Reeves - Forshaw - Forrester would be a good thing to see.

Jake is a hardworking, young, player of vision, who has bided his time, and is on the verge of really making his mark.

Really ? Cant see that being strong enough for the Championship !

Glad that we are able to keep hold of our young talents and clearly want to play for us. Interesting summer in store for us whatever happens.

Pleased as he shows signs of being a very good player providing he bulks up a bit as at present can be out muscled however he has shown that he has a very good football brain and can spot a pass

Clearly shows that the manager, despite suggestions to the contrary on here, rates him as a talent for the future and it gives me a great deal of confidence that we are working on getting our young talent tied up for the future

This is all so different to my previous 50 odd years that at times I have to double check that this is not all a dream and I will awake and find Butcher still managing us to oblivion!!!

Although this was more about whether the management wanted to keep him or not maybe some of the players we see being linked with other places ie a club in Lancashire will realise that the grass isn't always greener elsewhere and the grass in TW8 is the place to be

The best form of defence is attack. I don't think they'd be overrun as much as people think; our midfield has been out manoeuvred by a few teams this year, due to lack of pace/positioning. They all have enough pace to cover the midfield and it's not as if they're going to charge forward together.

Not good enough for League 1 let alone the Championship. Need to have Dougie, Toumani or KOC in there at least, 3 man midfield.

Good news on Reeves though, got a bright future and should add some decent squad depth too.

But I don't think a midfield with those three will create or score enough. This is one of the reasons why we've struggled to put teams away this season; the lack of a cutting edge from midfield. I think one of them in a midfield is okay as the 'holding man', with the flair players moving forward (and tracking back).
Unfortunately Dallas and Reeves haven't played enough to compare stats, but 5 goals from JD & TD, plus 3 from Forshaw isn't great for a promtion-pushing team. We're too defensive in games and still don't keep clean sheets.

Good news, he has potential but as we have seen this season plenty of work to be done to force his way into the starting eleven on a regular basis. Hopefully the next 2 years will allow him to do.

Would like to see that midfield in 4/5 years time at Lionel Road going for championship play-off place - next year....not just them anyway

That pass he played v MK Dons at home, literally seconds from having come onto the pitch, still plays out in my mind. Hopefully that was a sign of many good things to come

He may be called upon to start Tuesday as can't see Douglas starting (maybe on bench). Also depends on if Harry and tom are fit. If they are I see a midfield of Saunders tone Toumani and Forrester with Adam also on bench. If he goes diamond though could see jake playing protected by Toumani and Tom

His cameo proved why he has been signed up for two more years. Quality on the ball, I can't imagine how good he'll become in that time.

Don't understand why he wasn't even on the bench yesterday. Would have given us some creativity and passing quality which was desperately lacking.

How can he can go from MOM just 2 games ago against sheffield utd to not even being in the squad? I think Uwe got this badly wrong.

We bypassed the midfield far too much yesterday. Jake Reeves is exactly the sort of player we needed against Doncaster, when we got the ball down and passed it they couldn't live with us.

Disagree

No one would criticise having Gounet, Hodson, Forshaw (not fully fit), saunders, Trotta and El Alagui on the bench so the last place was between Reeves and Pierre.

Pierre was chosen as he had height and could cover in defence and maybe become an extra defender if we were winning and were facing an aerial bombardment.

8 into 7 doesn't go and someone had to lose out.

No criticism from me. Reeves was just unlucky

Understand why Pierre was on the bench but on all recent form I would have Reeves above Forrester or Forshaw, especially if the latter is not fully fit.

I do hope we see him against Swindon who might well suit him but we now have about 9 people who can sit on the bench as we have not mentioned Dallas and when Craig returns when Kevin will be a sub too!!

..............not a lot of passing and creative quality on show from him last week at Hartlepool though..............

I thought he was excellent tonight after he settled down a bit. Always comes on eager to please and it goes a bit wrong. When he settles he's got a great eye for a pass

Still not impressed, felt he was OK tonight couple of nice touches but nothing out of the ordinary, had the opportunity to really stamp his authority in midfield but in my opinion did not take that chance

Don't get me wrong I think he is a tidy young player but I would happily swap him for the Dons number 21.

I have a feeling that unless he goes out on loan gets regular football and develops further he will not be with us next season

What with Douglas back from injury and Toums playing well, he is down the pecking order. Wouldn't be a bad idea, if the loanee club are a good fit

Ran the show at Bramall Lane last year, just needs a run of games in a team to build some consistency and he'll be an excellent player for us

He's very much in the same boat as Dallas. Comes in shows glimpses of a decent talent then has an indifferent match or tries too hard to impress as a sub and then finds himself back in the DS. He does need a run of games and maybe if he gets that on loan it will give him the conidence and self belief he needs to kick on. Through no fault of his own he's not going to get that under Uwe in the current circumstances.

really want him to make it. his control and through ball to Harry last season v mk dons convinced me he has something most others inour team lack but he hasn't really progressed as I hoped.. he needs games but it doesn't look likely at gp

That was one of my champagne moments of the season. Literally his first touch and a quality through pass.
