I am not convinced yet..but I also thought that phil neville was anonymous yesterday until gordon strachen singled him out for extra praise so what do i know?
Apparantly neville was doing a zonal defence thingy whereby he hung out where henry usually likes to drift into (left flank) and confused henry into disappearing..ho hum!

Lawrence has a very good engine so i am sure when he gets a few more games undrr his belt he will do better.

Think its been obvious since he first signed that Talbot cannot play every match, so Lawrence is actually a replacement for Hutch who seems long term injured (? retirement) as a sort fill in for Talbot.

Thought Lawrence was one of the few players to come out with any credit on Saturday.

I'm not convinced yet. Seems to chase after the ball like a headless chicken leaving loads of space in the midfield. We've been solid in the middle all season apart from the last two games when Talbot hasn't been there.

I would have liked to see Kev get a game in midfield when Dobbo returns. Not sure about Lawrence yet but I won't worry too much as long as Talbot gets fit soon.

I've heard this too, that Hutch's ailments are such that his career may have been ended prematurely (or not, depending on your opinion). Would be terribly sad, he was just starting to exhibit the potential he seemed to possess.

The way things are going at the moment, with Hutch maybe looking doubtful for ever coming back, ditto Fitz (witness his role with the juniors - preparing him for a post-playing career?) and MA's comments on the apparent severity of Talbot's injury, we need a whole new midfield.

Ah. Yes. Not the most tactful comment was it!! Well, in my defence (he said, struggling here...!!), I meant more that we need a few more big hard men. Tabb, Salako and Hunt fall into the small-but-with-silky-skills brigade, whereas Hutch, Fitz et al are more of the big-hairy-ars*d-centre-back club. :blush

Hutch is back in training, started running last week..this info came from MA last week, from the horses mouth so to speak..where did the other info come from?.. speculation, rumour and guessework

I have refrained from any criticism of MA because he produces made to order miracles, but the only small nagging doubt that keeps whispering in my ear is that he seems to really like the "experienced" players..ie, most of his signing and been well over 30 years old- I hope this is not a sign that the old legs can't last a season so we have to do without several players at a time!

MA explained this at the start of the season
Brentford cannot afford players that are middle age of their career.
So its either young or old!!!

Players will play for our wages, if they do not have any or many other options. Players finish contracts every season of all ages and so are out of work. Surely our wages are better than no wages.
