Javi has left the club and gone back to Spain for personal reasons...let's hope that all will turn out well for him.

Personally I thought he look decent in the brief moments (home games) that I saw him.

Shame it didn't work out from due to family reasons he was a really nice bloke and very good footballer having seen lots of him on the telly in La Liga. Good luck to him in whatever he does next.

One assumes, reading between the lines of the club statement that the treatment options re his daughter ended up not being suitable. It seems that was the prime mover in uprooting his family from Spain, and his signing for us was very much a secondary consideration. I wish him and his family all the best for the future, and hope the treatment of his daughter's medical condition is successful.

This was a worthwhile experiment to try and bed in a really experienced and good pro who had played at a very high level in the hope that his ability and good habits would act as an inspiration to the youngsters around him and that his presence might attract other good players from abroad.

That I suspect was the reasoning behind his signing and the improvement in Shay Logan can I am sure be partially credited to having Venta around.

I love it when we as a club try and experiment and do different and innovatory things.

Good luck to Javier and his family and I am happy that we tried to do something like this.

The bit about him being responsible for Logan's improvement was sunk after he played Kev at right back up at Bradford.I could never understand this appointment and my only theory was he was being groomed to be the next manager.hope we can now find a more suitable player to creditably challenge Logan.Hope it all works out for his family back in Spain.

Don't see your argument at all. This experiment failed solely due to off field reasons and not because of Ventas ability.

Top pro who has played at the highest level. His experience would have motivated players on the training ground. Wish him and his family well.

The most likely reason for signing Venta was as the first of possibly more signings from Spain. If young players, from Spain, see a seasoned Spanish professional move to a League 1 club then they may think seriously about a move to the Bees. Sadly we now won't know. Hope he sorts out a coaching role in Spain.....

If he was pushing Logan for the RB spot something Uwe said only 2 weeks ago why didn't he play RB at Bradford ?pretty basic question The whole thing has been a failure so might as well move rather than try and defend it

I was led to believe Venta was injured for the Bradford game and unavailable for selection.

Who knows?

Bearing in mind why he's moved back, it may well be that those personal circumstances meant that he wasn't in the right frame of mind to be selected.

exactly, we don't know what goes on behind the scenes.

I thought this was a really positive signing when I heard the news. Model pro who has done it at the top level in the country that has been dominating football in recent years. Had a couple of Spanish friends who were were shocked that he was in the third tier of English football and were looking forward to going to GP to see him play at some point. Sad that it hasn't worked out for him and wish him and his family the best of luck in the future.

Going from the Bernabau to watching a 4-0 away defeat at Bradford, he might have got sudden clarity on his future direction. :)

I guess "Javi has family issues which were difficult to resolve in London in the immediate future." and the known history would indicate that but you can speculate it's more-or-less anything you want.

daft signing imo and was painful to read all the he's going to be our Spanish scout etc.

was obviously a statistical signing gone wrong..nothing against him but Im glad he's gone as was taking up a valuable squad place and wages

Perhaps both, they are not necessarily mutually exclusive are they.

Think we should out this one to bed wish Javi and his family well for the future and move on personally.
