Jay Tabb

Hi all,

Hope this is in the right forum but thought I would just let you know about a piece on the Colchester website at the moment.

Jay has spoken to the site due to the friendship he had struck up with a U's fan who passed away recently.

Given what I have read on the site when he left the club, I'm not surprised that he did this, but just goes to show what a great guy he is.

The story can be found on our website at:-

Any pledges would be much appreciated, but I thought you'd just like to know :D

Generally, there are good people or good footballers - but not both. How lucky were/are we to have been able to know one of the rare men who is both.

Jay takes 'class' to a new level. Hope all his dreams and ambitions work out in the new year.

They certainly broke the mould when they made Jay, he is a credit to the human race and huge loss to Brentford FC.

Jay Tabb - Legend

Best player I've seen to wear a Brentford shirt :sorted:

I would certainly agree.

Footballers' visits to hospitals etc are always well received but there will be those now and again that will take it a step further.

The fact that Jay took time to regularly speak to the girls and keep in touch with the families is more than awesome. An absolute top man.

An incredibly mature head on young shoulders...more ticks in the boxes for Jay :sorted:

There was a book out recently, with little stories from Bees fans. The one that most stands out in my memory was a girl who had made a mug for Jay Tabb, and when she visited him at the training ground, he proudly showed it off to her and showed that he regularly drank from it. Little things like that make him the legend that he is.

Can't we offer him a job as player manager?
Maybe as Defender/Midfielder/Striker/Manager would be suitable?

Jay is an absolute legend. I can't think of an ex player who would get a better reception if he ever returned.

Having to currently deal with the effects of leukaemia on my father, i give my heart out to Jay. To be able to give regualr hospital vists and play championship football is an amazing feat. A great player, and a top bloke. Would give almost anything to see him back in a brentford shirt.

Jay, if you read this (if you still read the GPG), i wish you all the luck in the world, and hope to see again in the future, seeing as i was 10 when we last met.

Who if I remember correctly said on leaving that one day he would love to return........ roll on that day we love you Tabbie:sorted: :sorted:

Any chance of him being one other the players coming in on loan as he does not seam to have had much of a run over the last month or so for Coventry!

Could teach some of the so called players we have currently a thing about effort and heart!

:fishing:

Jay Tabb

Tabb will probably get more of a chance under a new manager....according to some coventry fans i know

Jay Tabb

Well Mickey Adams has gone, so let's wait and see...........

Come home Tabby

Jay Tabb

Adams only needed one more game to get to 100 as Coventery manager lol

vital stats-wise, how do hunt and tabb measure up against each other?

Two of my favourite players of all time.

Hunt is now starting for a top ten Premiership team, at the moment Tabby is a fringe player in a struggling championship side.

Hunt looks better now, although having them seen them both play for Brentford, i'd have said Tabb was better.

Jay Tabb

Yep Hunts in the top flight smashing keepers sculls in and doing what he does and scoring some goals and Tabb hardly starts in one of the worst Coventry citys sides ever to lace up boots simple when you think about it.

I agree with you but I sill think Tabb could compete in the Premiership...

saw a mouse in my hall last week might give him a call and let him catch it.....as he's not a busy Tabby.......
