makes me feel slightly sick, modern day top footballers must just have no grip on reality these days

It is but I think Hanworth needs to check his maths. It's nowhere near £20m. Still obscene though. Mind you I've worked up from £140k p.w. Maybe the head line amount is £20m which would be just staggering for a 34 year old.

He looks to be in good shape ala Sheringham, don't see why he cannot do a job. Had a good season last year in a very poor side.

I think it's wise to ignore any numbers bandied about, they're generally all made up. The question is: will he add to AFCB positively or not?

I can't believe that that amount is guaranteed. It might be possible, but only depending on appearance/bonus/goal targets etc.

In other words, if he starts to fade in another season or two, there HAS to be some sort of arrangement whereby he'll leave early.

And if he scores enough goals to help them stay up another season it'll be repaid in spades even if he doesn't kick a ball in his 2nd or 3rd year.

This shows that it doesn't really matter whether Lionel Road is 17k or 20k capacity if we've got into the PL, but having the corporate facilities will help us to compete to get to the PL.

We don't sell out GP very often. It'd take a long period of success in the PL to get to the point where we had a waiting list for STs at LR. Everyone who is currently a fan, whether regular or just getting to a handful of games a season would easily get tickets. It depends on how and whether the club recognises and prioritises them over new fans. The 3k who are locked out will be mainly opposition fans.

Read an article a while ago about how he is teetotal and has devised some kind of super healthy diet for himself which he credits for the shape he's in and believes will keep him going for a few years yet.

Unlike Sheringham, who I think said that he lasted so long because he never had any pace to lose as he got older!
