Joe Cole

[Lee The Bee]

Does anyone know what role he’s taking up at the academy or is this just a one off type thing?

Isn't the answer in the message put out by the academy?

[nick logan]

Good move this . Came across really well when he and Crouch joined training

[Chomp]

Former Liverpool star my arse. He made more appearances for West ‘Am.

Anyway, welcome Joe.

I enjoyed watching him play in his pomp. A great footballer.

And they enjoyed that day too.
It may well have set wheels in motion it may not have done, but if he has something to offer then grab it with both hands.
Lets hope so.

Not that I can see

Not that I can see

The fact that the pictures are in the past, and the wording leans to it not being a one-off, and the future, indicates some kind of arrangement.

Not really. Have you read the message?

Agreed. He’s the former England, Chelsea and Liverpool West ‘Am star.

He played more games for the Tampa Bay Rowdies than Liverpool. (Thank you Google).

Yep, he's mentoring young academy players, pretty self-explanatory I thought.

Yep, he's mentoring young academy players, pretty self-explanatory I thought.

Mentoring isn't necessarily a role though, which is what the OP asked.

If you told me 20 years ago Joe Cole would be coaching our academy players....

[Oldboy TW8 0AW]

A great acquisition for the academy squad.
I am sure that Joe Cole's contacts in the football world, will lead to some interesting signings for the academy in the future.
Welcome to the Gtech Joe Cole.

You’d wonder why Chelsea was letting him have a part-time job. Mourinho would have been furious.

Could he be replacing the lady who gone to Canada?

[Gee Bee]

May help BT to get a guest pundit with Brentford connections?

[Beat Poet]

Could he be replacing the lady who gone to Canada?

Highly unlikely, given "you have to say" (football pundit cliché) Jon-Paul Pittman, as assistant, is "odds on". Then again, if he was, they'd have made an announcement by now...unless the OS has forgotten again.

Imagining telling Joe, would only have been 23!

Could he be replacing the lady who gone to Canada?

Think they’d have said so.

Perhaps he had a conversation off the back of that vacancy being advertised and they found a different role for him.
