Joey Barton

Greedy Bas**** or entirely justified?

Apaprently offered a double in salary to £28k a week and was so insulted by the derisory offer, he requested to be transfer listed (think he did this yesterday...).

What a greedy fecker. Given some of his previous ''Conduct'' he is still lucky to be there! Whilst I appreciate that footballers loyalties are to themselves & their bank balance, I think he is taking the pis*.

A suitable punishment would be for the youth team to take it in tunrs to stub cigars in his eye (see how he likes it).

Joey Barton

as long as he doesn't ask his brothers advice on whether to bury the hatchet.

thick little sh*t who doesn't know he's born.... stick him in the the reserves Stu..

Joey Barton

As my old nan would say, never trust people named after budgies :nono:

Joey Barton

Apparently he wants a move to Norwich.....

Joey Barton

......gone to his head...............

Apparently, Pearce has decided that if Barton gets the bird on Saturday it is his own fault and has refused to budg(i)e from his previous statement that Barton is a greedy tweet.

Barton is a greedy chav with a racist cousin!

Eastlands was still booing him after 10 minutes into tonights game against the Mags according to 5 live.
Greedy little ******, whose been badly advised.
When he grows up one day he might understand loyalty.

Standing ovation when he was subbed. Did he sign the new contract at half-time?

Joey Barton

he wants to be on a par with the top earners at City which is fair enough considering hes their best player

I think that sums up football fans. From zero to hero on the strength of 75 minutes football.

People started make bird references to the name Joey.... Norwich are the canaries.....

If Barton levaes - I would expect him to go onto bigger and better things? Not Delia's mob?....

Loyalty doesn't pay the bills...

He's arguably Man City's best player and hottest prospect, therefore wants to be recognised as such. Comparatively his £14k a week deal is way, way below what he should be getting paid, the £28k a week deal is comparatively good, but is what an average player would be getting, therefore he feels he deserves more... and I know you'll point towards the fact that Man City have given him numerous chances, but he's paid significantly for all of those (2 record fines and no doubt the hair-dryer treatment from Pearce).

The thing he did wrong was throw a public strop about it. What he should do is get his head down and show Man City he's deserving of a better salary, and if they still don't give him a (comparative) salary he thinks he deserves, then he should consider his options.

hes got a new agent two weeks ago who says the thick **** handed in a transfer request in October

Joey Barton

The missus says he's got a lovely backside....cant keep himself out of trouble, dam good player though i think

Joey Barton

i can't believe people have complained about that. bet he gets banned while that tw*t Michael Brown comes within inches of ending a career every week. great to see the FA's priorities :sorted:

Joey Barton

From what can be gathered it seems to be a storm in a teacup.

He went over to present a disable City fan with his shirt after the game, fair enouigh gesture. Was getting a bit of stick from those lovely Evertonians aout his brother being locked up for murder, laughed it off and gave them a quick moon!!

Can't see why they should feel the need to complain so vigourously to the police. I thought it was simply a bit of banter between the fans and an opposing player???

You are right about Brown, was speaking with a Fulham fan who I play Sunday football with, and he says even the Fulham fans think he is a disgrace.

....the bare arsed cheek of it.....................

At least the police are getting to the bottom of the matter.

You'd think of all supporters Everton fans should have a rich sense of humour given what they have to put up with week in week out out on the pitch.

Joey Barton

Perhaps he's trying to earn a move to Arsenal?

Though Barton has generally come over as a rather unpleasant young man, in this case, he seems to have reacted to some very offensive abuse with an amusing(ish) gesture - not classy, but better than violence or verbal abuse.

Perhaps he should get a club or FA warning, but no more, and involving the police is ridiculous

What is the game really coming to :( now i know this lad has been a bit of an idiot in the past with the cigar incident and his agent tring to hold City to ransom but..........He was enjoying a little light banter after having the decency to walk over and donate his shirt to a disabled fan.No doubt some jobsworth/suit wearer at the FA will feel a power trip coming on to deal with this and throw the book at him:rolleyes:

Joey Barton

Ridiculous. He shouldn't have done it, but a stern telling-off would surely be the right punishment.

...nice to see so many people comment on the gesture of giving his shirt to that fan in the wheelchair....

Joey Barton

I can never understand this from any football fans, the man on the terrace gives out loads but doesn't like it when it comes back. Unless it's one of our players, then it's great

I posted this in the Swansea match reports thread after our game last month, and I firmly believe it.

The bleating from some football fans is hypocritic in the extreme.

This was a little bit of banter and because their team had just conceded a goal they went nuts about it.

Ridiculous.

Totally agree, he can show his arse at the end of every game as far as I'm concernd as long as he makes a fan who is wheelchair bound and less fortunate than the rest of us happy at 16:45 by handing over his shirt.:)

JB....:)
