Get the blend right and imho we will have a decent side.

I know you've got Scott's mobile number and he's your best buddy now but there's no need to distort the truth.

We will not have a "decent" side until we get another seven or eight in and there's not the cash for that I'm afraid.

As some have said..I cannot believe that Orient would let a 'reasonable' player go to one of their main relegation rivals???

Will he be 'unable' to play against them on the 13th?

No, I doubt it as we have signed him on a permanent deal not loan

Joey Keith

He is the tall one, seen celebrating here...:fishing:

Joe%20Keith%20Orient.jpg

which is the tall one?
i don't like him, he just looks like some bloke!!

Joey Keith

A good signing me thinks,I prefer we sign players who know how to play in this league then throwing a prem youth player into a dog fight. Give him a chance.

Joey Keith

let's hope that both keith and partridge are on-pitch talkers.

it is heywoods one redeeming factor (he sometimes gets the likes of osbourne to stand in the right place rather than in the juvenile and irresponsible position that they have chosen to stand themselves)

on the left sided midfielder front i am still shocked that Steven Hunt is capable of playing in the prem.

Completely agree re Hunt - he was never that good for us even if he ran around a lot. His crossing was pony. Went bananas after scoring his goal the other day didn't he.

Joey Keith

Only 2 players so far....think we need 22 after last sat....lol ....YOU REDS...:sorted:

I'd go as far as saying it's an absolute scandal :thetruth:

Joey Keith

Who gives a monkeys what any of his former clubs thought of him and why they have let him go. Many Bees fans never thought for a minute that the likes of Hunt and Bent would go on to be Premiership "Stars" did they?

By all means slag off new signings after they have a pants game or three but at least give em a chance to play a game for gawds sake! I dunno, I despair at my fellow Bees sometimes

All players signed this week will start. :)

Thanks for that little pearl of wisdom....

Perhaps I should stop talking to Fitzgerald and start talking to Mr Chapman re team affairs as it would seem, judging by the above decree, that he has now assumed control of team selection.
On second thoughts......

Sadly and between me and you I agree.

We need a GK, CB, 2 CMs, CF, RW & LW. But making sure please that they are better than we already have.

If SF has signed a LW surely Tillen should be on the list as he has been awful this season?

Joey Keith

"H" from Steps has come out.

Joey Keith

He's a bit of a free-kick specialist, judging by watching all the goals he's scored in the last 3 seasons. Could do with one of those, I believe!

Joey Keith

Have we signed Toadfish or sean penn??....Il get my coat.

Joey Keith

As you mentioned, was here when Fitz was at Col U and for as long as he was here as well.

On his day, he's a very good winger - will give defenders a torrid time. Not the quickest (but quick enough) and his tricks give him an edge.

Also played 100+ games for us at left back in his first few years at the club before being pushed forwards later on.

Edited to say: He was released by Phil Parkinson, who brought in more physical players into the side. We had been a comparatively smaller team in our early years in L1 but ended up last season with six or so six footers in the team.

Joey Keith

Let's hope this lad is decent...

wouldnt you if you scored your first goal in the premiership? anyway I think he's playing where he is because left wingers are hard to come by, if he was a right winger he wouldn't be there.

Joey Keith

is this one of the players that impressed the selection panel therefore giving fitz the job LOL

Joey Keith

Think we should have signed Wayne Rooney or Thierry Henry then?

With both Man Ure and Arsenal competing for places at the business end of the premiership as well as both involved in the Champions League, I can't see that Fergie or Arsene would let them come to us at this point in the season. Probably best to wait until the summer...

Joey Keith

If people think we are going to attract fringe Championship players, I would think again-these sorts of players are extremely hard to come by for a club bottom of league 1 with the capacity to only offer short contracts. I would be surprised if we sign anyone of this calibre...
Prem youngsters are too much of a gamble at this stage, so I take my hat off to Fitz for the apparent mould of player he is looking to bring in during this window, both Partridge and Keith are proven at this level (and beyond in the case of Partridge) and will hopefully thrive at the prospect of some first team football.
Give them a fair chance, and to all those already prepared to criticise Fitz for his selections without even seeing them in a bees shirt, p*ss off and support Chelski.

Joey Keith

spirits will be lifted around here if scott can sign a striker.
a natural goalscorer. somebody ruthless.
maybe a premiership youngster

we need the sort of luck bournemouth had when defoe went their as a teenager

for all of his effort, willock is not going to score the goals to keep us up

Joey Keith

Joe Keith was born on the National Day of the People's Republic of China (Oct 1st)

Is this significant ?

Spot on.

We have needed new blood for months, we get it and .......................the slagging starts before they have kicked a ball.

I wonder sometimes if there are those that just like to moan for the fecking sake of it.

Give the new boys a break. Trust in Fitz. If he pulls this off, he will have his 15 minutes of idolisation before we start another round of slagging at the start of next season.

If he blows it, then we are down and Fitz is signing on at the end of the season along with several of the squad.

Joey Keith

Anyone else think we've signed Jake from Eastenders?

He did work in the Griffin behind the bard in that sh*t Green Street Film as well!

Joey Keith

People are talking as though he is some unknown player.

He is experienced and has demonstrated that he can be a good player - seems a good add to the squad to me. We're def weak on the left.

Fitz also knows what he is getting as he played with him enough times.

I think Fitz is doing well to attract such players - you may have noticed that we are not be in the most attractive of positions in the league!

Joey Keith

This is our last chance. Personally I have never heard of the two players concerned, and it is surely reasonable to wonder why clubs in nearly as bad a situation as us are willing to let them go. Everybody I am sure hopes and prays that they and any other signings do the trick and save us. However we cannot afford to give anybody a chance , they must hit the ground running , we can hardly afford to lose another game. This is the real thing not the dress rehearsal.

Joey Keith

At the moment we need several experienced players who will be able to play regular football based on fitness and application and who can be relied upon by the manager. The two players announced today would seem to fit that bill. Premiership youngsters are too risky as they have no experience at this level and cannot be relied on to relish the challenge- in fact they are more likely to be like our youngsters and just enjoy the chance to play regular first team football without worrying about how the team does. Non-league rising stars cannot be relied upon to step up (eg Moore, Tomlin). The only choice giving us any hope of staying up this season is experienced L1 players.

It is depressing to remember, but the ancient journeymen Micky Adams brought in in 97-98 did a reasonable job, we certainly didn't have the run of huge defeats that our potentially promising youngsters have delivered. The two new guys look to be a big step up from the Graeme Hoggs of this world.

The parallel to consider is probably the recruitment of Talbot, Bull and Fitz himself in 2004- no stars but just good solid pros who provided the spine of the team that gave Martin Allen our Great Escape and let us rebuild the following 2 seasons for promotion challenges.

Joey Keith

Yep, thats what the text message says, so straight into the side as we haven't got anyone else any good on the left wing?!!

Any point in keeping Tillen now?
Not required at left back, or left midfield?

Joey Keith

When did Frampton last not play left back ?

I feel the Partridge will be on the bench initially, and then come in, to partner Griff once he is match fit.

With injuries and suspensions, I can't see how he won't play.

roddy, this isn't personal but what difference does the fact that you haven't heard of them make. It so happens that I have heard of them but, like 99% of Bees fans, I don't know how good/bad they are.

The people spouting cack about this, that and the other ought to realize we are aiming to finish 5th bottom this season so we're not after the créme de la créme of World football but some stronger, more experienced ones than we have at the moment, that's all.

lets give any one who wants to join us a chance.

My Col U contact has told me he is a "willing worker but lightweight and not even as good as Pinault".

Its the last bit that worries me.............:sneakoff:

ALL of that worries me!! We've got willing workers, (they're just not good enough) we've got lightweight, and we've got Pinault!!!

Oh well, we'll have to wait and see how he gets on.. Besides, we've still got our freebie premiership players to come!! :fishing:

Joey Keith

I will wait until is ee the guy to pass judgement on his ability however on paper it seems a good signing. We desperately need a left winger and Fitz should be able to get the best out of him as an ex team-mate.
