Hadn't seen this before. Kudos to Villa to be fair. Very "down with the kids" way to announce the Terry signing (although I have nfi what the percentages thing is all about):

Listening to talk sport and they are saying that he is a great signing and will find it easier in the championship as the football is a lot slower than the premiership? The prat who said this must have his telly on fast forward

I always have the opinion that a good Centre Back doesn't have to go to ground much (slide tackling).
He gets plaudits for last ditch tackling etc...I normally attribute that to having to recover from poor positioning in the first place for a Centre Back.

He was a good player (the number of appearances for a top team shows that) but he's far from world class in my opinion.

In my opinion ,He was England's best defender and most natural leader since Tony Adams. Always guaranteed 5- 10 goals a season as well . People saying he had no pace , we all know that but did he need it ? No he did not because he read the game to perfection . Find me a better passer of the ball with both feet in defence at centre half in the last ten years. You will struggle. Would run through brick walls and made many goal line clearances as well .

Great player yes and would be the first name on my team sheet ahead of Ferdinand in his prime any day.

They'll be having a guard of honour at the first game. On 26 minutes the game will be stopped and everyone will applaud. At the end of the game, replica trophies of the Champions League, FA Cup, Premier League and League Cup will be handed to him so he can go on a lap of honour. Club Legend at Villa already.

Gordon Cowans and Dennis Mortimer are apparently booked in to give him a medal for his part in the 1981 title win. Sky will be covering it, despite it being before football in this country officially started.

That was the best of the lot lol great performance from you two last night.

Couldn't help but go and give him some stick when we scored, he offered me out in the dugouts but he preferred to sit down and sulk

John Terry spent the game bending the 4th official's ear, or standing as far away from Dean Smith as possible or flouncing back to his seat. The only communication between him and Dean Smith was after a spell of pressure (a spell LOL, probably most of the game) Smith turned to Terry and told him to advise his defenders. Terry did this wirly thing with his fingers and pointed, it was very bizarre, I had to laugh, WTF was that meant to mean. On another occassion, when Villa were going forward, 2 of the defenders looked at Terry and strugged, looking like a couple of lost kids on a pitch not knowing what to do. I've never seen a pro footballer do this before. All in all, Smith & Terry are NOT working well together, their body language and lack of communication said it all. Villa were cr@p
