Current Interest:

Arsenal plan 'cut-price' transfer for midfielder who was given debut by Arsene Wenger
Arsenal are considering a move for Brentford midfielder Josh Dasilva.

I imagine “cut price” might reflect that Arsenal wouldn’t need a % of the selling price back.

He had a great season, he will be a great player but he’s still got a season or 2 to go before he is ready for the premier league.

Why would Arsenal have a sell-on?

Dasilva left after his contract expired.

Should be used to it by now?

We have talented players at Brentford now. Expect speculation and EPL clubs to pick off the cream. Or attempt to. However, you know how we work and players won’t go without a talented player coming in. Plus, they go for their worth, not a pittance anymore.

Relax!

Ok yes in that situation I can understand the tribunal - I was assuming there was no contract full stop :)

Arsenal tend to offer deals to many of their leaving players to ensure some compensation and possible future revenue. They did the same with Dom Thompson

Now, this would be a great shame.

Great for his bank balance but not for his game. He needs at least another season learning his trade and working on his stamina.

Josh DaSilva

I don't think he would get many minutes at Arsenal. Europa League and early rounds of the cups. Nah.

Josh DaSilva

I can’t see any truth in this story, Arsenal have many similar youngsters still on their books and Arteta will go to as and when required.

You just have to look at the original Star article to see this is not a story. It's a suggestion from a journalist not based on any info from Arsenal. They even suggest signing him to play in the holding role. Josh has lots of development left with us and I expect us to be offering a new bumper contract this summer, ditto Pinnock.

Josh DaSilva

Given that he left because he couldn’t break through and he’s now an established first teamer id be surprised if he went back there again to go back onto the sidelines... given another year maybe...

Why would you have a tribunal if the player has no contract? Unless I am missing something?
Compensation is due when an under 24 player leaves on contract expiring providing he is offered another contract by his original club. Arsenal offered a contract to him but he refused. If we cannot agree compensation then a tribunal will decide. Sell on quite likely. I think we did agree as do not remember any talk of tribunal.
