Why didn't he get more stick?

Did this on Braemar Road not realise his part in the sending off.

I felt sure he would be given a very hard time - but nothing

Nothing compared to what he should have got and nothing compared to what he would have faced in previous years at GP. Can't believe people knew exactly what he did.

This guy brought disgrace upon his profession. The ref gave the penalty immediately and I feel certain that he was only going to yellow card Masters. Jupp's outrageous intimidation of the referee changed everything. The ref felt seriously intimidated and felt that he had to consult his assistant. Of course, in accordance with referees' secret code, the ref would deny this, claiming that he always knew what to do, but simply checked with his assistant. Jupp should never be welcome on our pitch again!

Immediately after pointing the spot, before Jupp got anywhere near, the Gillingham forward was waving his hand for a card - the ref was clearly pointing to where O'Connor and a second Brentford defender, Osbourne I think, had run to behind Masters to cover as if to inidicate to Gillingham's forwards there were two covering defenders so it isnt a red. Once Jupp appeared he seemed to change his mind.

It is time that the PFA instilled in their members that football is meant to be a sport played by sportsmen. I was appalled by the part played by various Luton players earlier in the season in getting Chris Moore sent off and even more disgusted by the actions of one or more Gillingham players in attempting to get Clark Masters sent off yesterday. Is it too much to expect common human decency to be displayed or are we to continue to be beset by people who seem determined to prove they have so much to learn about being a decent human being?

With such goings-on we should not be surprised that so many of our fellow citizens see attending football matches as a waste of their leisure time and their money and so stay away.

Anyone really think GP is a daunting place to come?

I was the other side of the park but was quite impressed at how we can do our bit for the team when we need to and feel incensed enough. Admittedly this is not that regularly but Saturday was one of those days for sure and Jupp got plenty from us as did the no 14 who was also a ****. Always thought Braemar was where the big boys sat. Maybe New Road led the way yesterday.

I agree with Kettering Bee. He was not going to red card Masters and that is why Jupp got so upset. What Jupp did was one of the most disgraceful episodes I have ever seen at Griffin Park and I have been going for 46 years. His reaction got Masters sent off and he should have had two yellows himself, one for waving an imaginary card and two for swearing at an official. He got serious stick from the New Road. A video of his actions should be sent to the FA and the PFA. Also agree that even if the red card was quashed, it still cost us a possible 2 points on the day. The ref and especially the New Road lino were a disgrace.

Have you seen the paddock recently?

The famous fatties are being usurped in favour of old bids and kids and it ALL stems back to A.Hill and his reaction to the Tranmere game a couple of seasons ago.

People don't want 3 year bans or to be dragged over the seats and beaten up by the "heavy" stewards.
It's just not the same thanks to Alistair.

Cos while half the Brook Road were trying to start songs questioning Jupp's parentage/sexual leanings etc, the 'Noizy Boyz' were busy singing to a steward who had a slight passing resemblance to Theo Walcott... ;)

Griffin Park is a cold and colourless place at the moment. A few years ago Jupp would have got plenty sh!t just for having a Fulham past, had I not been 30,000 feet up in the air I would have shouted my bit at him before his girly incident.

Jupp's actions on Saturday were such a disgrace that I emailed both the FA and PFA this morning. Doubt it will have any effect, but I feeel better for it.

Think that was just after Oli had lost it and Clyde was trying to calm things down.

I was praying that Jo got a chance to run at Jupp as sure we'd have witnessed more fun and games but I don't recall one tackle he had to make after the incident. He showed his experience and kept a very low key only receiving the ball in space and quickly moving it on so the crowd couldn't sustain booing for long.

He might have shown experience but i think he was a main factor in why they didnt win, he was the player who seemed to be given the space due to their extra man and he did nothing with it. His passing and crossing was woeful, thank god.

;) I sent an email to the PFA after the Gillingham game, regarding the disgraceful actions of Duncan Jupp. Today I received a reply from Gordon Taylor thanking me for my letter, promising to investigate further. He cc'd the email to the FA and the Referees Dept. at the Football League. Nothing may still come of it, but I will be receiving a copy of the poster sent to all FL clubs, on the subject of trying to get fellow players carded.
Haven't decided whether to put it on the wall in the spare room, or post it to Duncan Jupp for future reference. ;)

Have been in contact with the PFA and the FA - here is the latest instalment, an e-mail from the FA to the PFA

"FA Compliance did look at this incident as the Match Referee asked Compliance to review the mass confrontation that occurred after the award of a penalty.

With regard to Duncan Jupp, we took no action against him specifically. There was no suggestion that the Match Officials had missed any incidents involving Jupp and indeed Jon Moss cautioned the player for adopting an aggressive attitude. Accordingly, no individual action was considered against Duncan Jupp as his actions were not outside the jurisdiction of the Match Referee and he had been dealt with. As a result of the confrontation, Compliance wrote to both clubs and reminded them of their players’ responsibilities with regard to the reaction/mass confrontation which occurred as a result of the penalty incident.

Re: the “dive” – The FA are unable to take retrospective action when the matter was seen by the Match Officials. Although the Disciplinary Commission overturned the red card, the incident was still seen and dealt with by the Match Referee. (As an aside, I am aware that the Match Referee remains of the strong opinion that contact was made.)"

As a separate issue, is anyone else amazed that a player can be booked for "adopting an aggressive attitude" ?

I would rather Jupp got booked for ungentlemanly conduct, I would hope all professional footballers adopt an aggressive attitude.

What a whitewash.......

So you can be done retrospectively for a bad challenge even if the referee has seen it and taken action but not blatant cheating.

Message going out is "Carry on diving", worst case you might get a booking, better odds keeper off and pen.

Excuse me but there is being aggressive and being a total what he was words cant describe such a ***** if he were a Bee i would want him out the door and fast
