I am really surprised at how many of you would keep mousinho. I aggree he does try and give 100% every game but is severely lacking what we need in midfield. Every time he gets the ball he passes backwards to the groans of the griffin park faithful. I know hes under contract and cheap but please only keep players with some potential or who are currently doing a good job. He is not one of the above.

For what it's worth, I think Mousinho has played well this season and is deserving of his status as the top of the GPG man of the match table in my opinion.

If he can learn to look up and use the ball better after he's won it, he could become an exellent player but it's usually something you've either got or haven't and not something you can be taught.

I think he deserves his place at the top but it shows how poor the squad has been when a trier of of limited ability is the best player.

I personally think Mousinho could make a very good centre half, a la Ingimarsson. He is strong, good in the tackle and ok in the air. I think he gets a bit lost in midfield as he perhaps does not have the vision to work openings for the attack and is better at breaking things down.

Ingamarrson main asset is reading the game well and therefore anticipating a move or 2 ahead. Not convinced Mousinho currently has that skill and it's one that is difficult to teach. He does however break up play well and needs to improve his passing skills to become a better holding midfield player.

So that's 4 players then, 2 of which I doubt will be here next season...then you want to sign 2 more players (with money we dont have !)...

Even if all these players stay, you are still 10 short of a 16.....any ideas ?

This may seem obvious, but now we're relegated it's time to look at who could do a job in a lower division. We may need to consider those who work hard, not those who have skill (although we should make sure we keep at least one from Pinault and Brooker)

For example, Keith may not be Neil Smillie, but he's one of the players who works hard.

Willock works hard. May arguably miss loads of chances, but may be good enough for next year.

To my mind, there are two simple reasons for going down this year (apart from not being good/committed enough).

1) We didn't have the spine of the team right. You start with a good keeper (and Nelson or Abbey aren't bad). You get centre backs who work well together; usually at least one good in the air and one fast. You have a ball winner in midfield. And you have a good forward, either a 15-goal a year player or a good target man.

We had only two of these positions adequately filled this year.

2) Apart from the Iceman's goal and Keith's 'chip', I'm hard pushed to recall another midfield goal - and even more worryingly I can hardly recall another shot from midfield after Skulason's early injury other than Brooker hitting the post against Cheltenham. If midfield don't shoot or present a threat, all the opponents have to do is double mark the attack - note how many Robins players were round Ide, Kuffour, Owusu, Keith and Brooker on Saturday.

Ignoring contracts and the actual players' own views...
Keep one from Nelson and Abbey - I'd go for Abbey because he gives extra confidence to the defence.

Keep Frampton and O'Connor (but sell them if an offer comes in), Charles and Osbourne.

Tillen must go.

Bin Heywood and Griffiths.

Keep Mousinho, Pinault and Carder Andrews.

Keep Keith.

Keep Kuffour and either Owusu or Willock.

Charlie Ide - Keep, but don't pin your hopes on him. He's promising but no more.

Neil Shipperley and Taylor are going, thank God
Ryan Peters - not sure about. Started brilliantly, and he's still young. Might keep on a short contract.
Alex Rhodes - Bye
If we could have kept Richards, I'd have done so. Leary I'd have let go anyway.

We should be seen to offer a contract to Kuffour, but he'll go.

Abbey, Masters/Brown, Osborne, Charles, Ide to be offered contracts.

If Owusu will take a 50% wage cut, might be worth a season.

If Colchester were willing to release Richards, offer him a contract.

if Keith is on £1k pw or less, possibly worth keeping for set pieces

Kevin O'Connor - Out, been a terrible captain and will always be remembered for this season.

Andrew Frampton - Out, been a liability for a large part of the season. Started on his own fans.

Thomas Pinault - Not right for League 2.

Matthew Heywood - Out, high wages, carthorse.

Adam Griffiths - Out, bad attitude, can't be arsed, sh*t.

Paul Brooker - Out, high wages, bottler, shame as he clearly has some talent. Story of his career.

Scott Taylor - Out, not good enough.

Lloyd Owusu - Depending on wages I would probably keep him, he will be gone though.

Jo Kuffour - Out, already got himself fixed up apparently.

Karle Carder-Andrews - I honestly don't know a great deal about him, he seems to have faded into oblivion since his 15 minutes at Orient. 'Spose I would keep him and send him on loan to see if he develops. He can't be on much.

Sam Tillen - Out, not good enough.

Calum Willock - Out, not good enough

Ryan Peters - Out, shovel feet, lightweight.

Clark Masters - Let a good 90 minute performance get to his head, perhaps talk of him moving to Spurs earlier in the season affected him. Out.

John Mousinho - Tries hard but no good. Squad player for League 2.

Karleigh Osborne - Keep. I would rather be playing him than Heywood.

Charlie Ide - Keep.

Sebastien Brown - I don't know much about him. I see no need for us to have 4 keepers on our books though.

Nathan Abbey - Keep, I didn't like his reputation at all when he signed, and I'm still scared every time the ball goes near him in goal - but I have been proved wrong so far. Not much chance of him and Nelson I wouldn't think.

Ross Montague - Again, don't know much about him, same as Carder-Andrews

Michael Leary - Out.

Darius Charles - Keep. Much improved in his brief appearance at Crewe, looks like there is potential there.

I should add this is what I would like to happen. I know it is highly unlikely that we will be shot of some of those listed above.
