Good work.

As an aside, by my maths (and I bow to yourself and markbgfc among others on this) Kev has made 54 non-league appearances, which puts him behind only Bates (105), Millen (74) and Terry Evans (56)

that figure of Bates' is amazing!

Cup runs in the FA, Anglo-Italian and the LDV/DAF/ (whatever!) certainly helped.

Going to be hard, IMO, for Kev to get into the top 3, that's at least 3 more seasons.

Strange to think he is still only 27, I wonder how many appearances those above him in that list had when they were that age? Would be an interesting comparison.

You just know that someone is going to find out for you.

AM I right in saying that Kenny Coote has played the most games for the Bees?

"King Kev" was back to his very best yesterday! Well done Kevin!

Kev was quality yesterday. He ran the midfield.( bearing in mind the quality of the opposing midfield) I think Kev is a confidence player, when we are good he is good, and when we are bad he is bad.
Kev has the right to say to does that thought he was not good enough for this div(bearing in mind this is where he has played most of his games) up yours:thumbs::thumbs:

I had the pleasure of watching the match with Mr Taxi Driver who calculated KOC had a positive yardage of 37. Not seen so many passes sideways or back since Wilkins retired.

Is that a criticism or simply an observation ?

Neither - if Taxi Driver tells me KOC had a positive yardage I accept it as fact without hesitation. On a serious note OB I have no problem with KOC breaking up play and ensuring we keep possesion (especially on a pitch like yesterday's) whether it be sideways, backwards, or even on occasion going forward. For the avoidance of doubt I thought KOC put in a good solid performance.

I'd go a lot further. He was outstanding. Hope that helps:D.

NPG - the great thing about football is it's all about opinions - I reckon KOC had a good solid performance whilst you state he was outstanding. No argument whatsoever from me and I hope he puts in a similar performance on Tuesday.

Thought Kev had a great game Saturday - particularly first 20-30 minutes when we were struggling a bit against a good Carlisle side. Between Kev and the Mac for MoM I thought.

It was Kev at his best, the game was played in a way that suited him. We were up against it and he was key to holding us together until we got to a point where we could get a foothold. His passing was excellent, his positional play was outstanding and he actually drove us forward at times.

I really hope he gets the Spurs game. Although Harry is one of the dodgiest people in football, he is a football man, and I am sure he realises that 10 years service from any player in professional football at the moment deserves a big game to celebrate

I was going to post the same but you beat me to it.:sorted:

shame he has to sort it all out himself, shame the club couldn't of set up a testimonial committee to sort all this out and allow king kev to concentrate on playing.

there is a Testimonial Committee. Maybe Kev had to make contact too?

Another great game yesterday, just seems to get better and better this season.

Despite all the managers that have come and gone in the last few years, KOC always retains his place which shows that he is clearly a quality player at our level.

For me KOC is right up there with Evans, Blissett, Hurlock and other Brentford modern day legends. Always gives 100%, plays the game the right way and an all round decent bloke to boot.

He went through a sticky patch at times earlier this season, but because he is a professional, he worked on his game and has come out the other side better than ever before. On Saturday his game was characterised by a total lack of rush and panic. He always had time, made the right pass, made the good tackle. I would also add that i wonder if Dave helped his game. Dave is big and physical (more so than Bean) and maybe that presence helped Kevo play his best game, being allowed to stroke the ball around rather than having to put in the thumping tackles, more suited to physically larger players.

15 short of 400 apps for the Bees. (all matches inc League and Cup)
