I spoke recently with his manager at the time he was at R&D,after what he said think the R&D players would give him a good kicking if he ever returned there.He also said Martin had warned him not to touch him.Wide berth I think.

surely R&D are still paying him for the remaining one or two years left, that must amount o more than 30K....what is the frickin point.

I might be wrong but I have read that he was paid a signing on fee that covered the entire length of his contract and that they wanted it paid back.

Nope not a penny they sacked him but have retained his registration only in the UK

Money in an envelope under the table apparently, but that is irrelivant (sp).

Surely he is still due a wage on top of that regardless, they have decided to retain his registration and take out the option of an extra year so they should still pay him.
Thats like recieving a bonus at work and then your employer then saying actually we are knocking that off of your yearly salary now.
You're not allowed to do it.

About 5 years ago i approached the club and spoke to John Griffin personally on his mobile recommending a non league player.

Leon Knight's name came in to the equation later in our chat and let's just say he does not have a good name in football.Not a surprise at all that we never took him on.

His career has nosedived hugely and i would imagine an inflated ego and poor attitude has done him no favours.The only thing he has on his side must be a good agent judging by the amount of clubs he has had !

When you say "good agent", you can also substitute "good goalscoring record".

When you think about the clubs that give the likes of Lee Hughes and Marlon King numerous chances, there must be a MASSIVE problem with Leon Knight for him to have ended up in the non-league in the first place.

He squandered his own career, and on goals alone could still be playing in The Championship today.

Sad that such a talent was self destroyed. I actually follow Leon on twitter, he talks a lot of nonsense but was stating over May/June how he had point to prove and was almost saying watch this space. Seems his talent may have deserted him or been left behind.

:D You have a point but i have always admired him as a player. He was very flawed genius in my mind. Not in the same category as Gazza, Best, Cantona etc of course but had bags of talent. I was just interested to see what sort of bloke he was. Bit of a c0ck though as im sure you would expect.

What's so flawed about Eric Cantona compared with Best (alcoholism) and Gazza (psychological problems)? Cantona is currently developing a career as an actor and not doing badly at all. He even played in a Ken Loach film whose title had his name in it. Cantona has the occasional moment of eccentricity (a recent campaign urging people to withdraw all their money from the bank, for example), but compared with the two others you mention he's a model of sanity and saintliness.

rofl the bloke has often been described as a flawed genius. I cant remember all the reasons of the top of my head now but if you read Cantona: A rebel who would be king which is a good book you will understand what i mean he certainly had some psycological problems but could cope better than the others mentioned.

it's in his contract he must move, just signed a new 2 years aswell... they could well do what Rushden did and hold it so he can't play anywhere else lolrofl
