on a more serious note, i would love to see him at the club as he could match MA's character and enthusiasm off the pitch and is well connected but not very realistic is it

Is looking forward to Manchester United at home in 6th round of the club realistic?

This time last year was the thought of challenging for promotion to the Championship this season realistic?

Was the idea of walking to Hartlepool realistic?

What is meaningful about running a small football club with a load of problems that won't make anyone any money, apart from Ron Noades? Just because we like it and care doesn't mean Greg Dyke or everyone else will.

Greg does like it.

My understanding was that BU or BFC or representatives of one party or the other had f*cked up the chance of getting Greg involved by messing him around...

If Greg Dyke came in then it should be as non-executive chairman. I have posted many times that the first of many mistakes that Bees United made when they assumed responsibility for the management function was to agree to have Rogers as Chairman. Whether he likes it or not he is tainted by his connection with Noades and his passive acceptance of Noades /Hargraves management of the Club finances when Rogers was a non executive director and sat passively by listening to Noades telling fans that he was funding the Club.

We needed then and need now more than ever a Chairman who the fans trust and who can communicate with them.

And don't be blinded by the "He had loans in the Club and we couldn't afford to pay them back" rubbish. I offered to clear them at the time and the Bees United story then changed to ".......er actually it's one of Noades conditions that we had Rogers as Chairman".

We were lied to about Rogers and who knows what other conditions there were in the "managment agreement".

Sick to my stomach.

Just a little question. How do we pay him? I know lets use the Cup Money and not strengthen the squad, this will make MA happy. :rolleyes:

For a business this size and £7m in debt can we afford another £100,000.00 on the admin bill.

'Ayes B, with all due respect to you, I'd stop posting for a while on here and sit back, adopt a neutral stance on matters, take the rose-tinted specs off and then read all of the posts since 14th Feb.

The Board are a bunch of incompetent liars, how can you still support them and rubbish (in other posts) those that object to being lied to ? :confused:

The crap that we have to support the Club and we can't have any negativity is what has kept John Mac in a paid job for the last two years ! :banghead:

If you think that the current Board would take anyone on at CEO level who's any good then jesus H - anyone good would threaten existing Board Members' and Senior Management positions, can't see that Greg Dyke would put his name to the gross incompetence and lies that we've suffered !

The Board should be ashamed but John Mac will love and cuddle his undeserved payslip even more this month ! :mad1:

I posted this last Sept more relevent than ever

To be honest I would be delighted to see him as a chief executive, and probably would not have to invest any personal money but he no doubt knows plenty of people with "spare" money.

But someone who knows his job like Greg would not be popular let alone approached by the present incumbents and I will let you say why

Any CEO (and marketing department) should earn enough money to cover their own salaries - if they dont they are either being paid to much or are the wrong person (people) for the job.

Agreed. The salary can and should be heavily performance related.

If he's sh*t, he gets £50k, if he's awesome he gets £200k etc..

Am worried already the club will handle this the wrong way. We don't want some reject from a club higher up the league, we want somebody who can really do the job. Personally I'd go for someone with no football experience so that they can actually run the club as a business. That's what we need IMO.

If Greg can sort out the communucation problems of the BBC and bring harmony to such a huge, divided corporation; BFC would be a breeze - he can do it in his spare time and as a volunteer :D

Ok Greg actually working for the club is very unlikely but he's defo a name we need to exploit. BacktheBees need much more media exposure and that is something Greg can do in his sleep. I'm sure Sky sports/National Newspapers wouldn’t mind doing a piece on Greg backing the bees, maybe a lil interview about why he's backing them etc. and if they weren't too keen , im sure he's got contacts!

And he's a great person to have on a photo and quote of on front of a leaflet to stick through peoples doors.

So let’s get the ball rolling BU! Good job so far, but we need another gear!

Didn't know the BBC were in admistration under Dyke and commuting balances with creditors. Are you sure you mean commutations? ;)

Not saying greg should run the club (althou it would be nice!), just use his image to it's potential to really get some big, national exposure. The fact it's already on BBC website is definately a good sign!

I'm very happy that he's chosen to speak publicly and back the campaign but you can't take that to the bank. Neither the BBC report nor the Back the Bees website says he has given us any money. If he's been a Bees fan for 40 years, it would be nice to know for certain that his support has translated into something financial at this crucial time.
