Level Playing Field
Given that
a: We have a wage budget of only £13m and some have budgets in excess of £200m
b: A lot of talk about Liverpool almost winning the quadruple
Should we make it even harder for teams to achieve a clean sweep ? ... ie you really have to be truly exceptional both on and off the field and money should not be the defining factor.
I'm not in favour of a wage cap .... however, what if you had levels of subs allowed:
Wage Bill >£100m = 3 subs
Between £50m and £100m = 4 subs
<£50m = 5 subs.
So larger clubs would have to think and plan much harder re rotation of match day squads. Come the end of the season, smaller clubs may gain a small advantage of having more fitter and match sharp players at their disposal.
