well he was good against Swansea but i would hardly base a contract on that...the other games i saw him in he was awful...especially against Bournemouth...
I think i would rather find someone younger with potential rather than invest in a player with large question marks over his consistency....

IF we could get him playing like he did against Swansea regularly then he would be worth it...but thats a big gamble...

Lewis wasn't fit enough. The reason he didn't play half the time because Allen thought he wasn't mobile enough so no thank you, we can do better.

Only saw him twice and thought he did well. I was surprised he wasn't used a lot more. he seemed to always try and at least give the ball to one of our players, was keen to receive it and didn't seem to give away silly free kicks all over the place.

I was impressed with Lewis in the games he played. He won the tackles, passed to his own players and did the simple stuff. True, he did not beat four players and crack the ball home from 30 yards, but he did not give possessiokn away much either. I would think he could be worth a shot short term, and could not be worse than Newman as a holding midfielder

This is a very accurate statement.He plays a simple, yet effective game.I personally hope Leroy gives him a fair crack of the whip.

Hear hear. There's got to be a lot of better midfielders out there who wouldn't hold BFC to ransom contractually. Yes, Lewis showed glimpses of being a reasonable player from time to time, but he seldom won the ball, and when he had the ball he was too slow and 95% of his passes were backwards or sideways.

If he's the answer, then I don't know what the question is

isn't Skulason supposed to be a defensive midfielder?
if so, lewis will be a squad player only as he wont take the second midfield slot (praying either Tabb stays or we sign a playmaking midfielder).
he would probably be worth keeping on the bench to bring on when we're trying to defend a lead, but not good enough to start in my opinion.

Anyway, Lewis has been released by MA. I can't see LR going back and offering new contracts to players Martin had when he's got so few places in the squad with which to bring his own men and stamp his own style on the team. Thus the same will apply to the likes of Gayle, Hutch and Rankin, which, IMO, is a good thing. The squad last year wasnt good enough and so whatever opportunities there are to change it I expect LR to take..

Dont think he is to fussed about the money as he has made plenty elsewhere so he might be up for a pay as you play deal.
