Longest winless run

Was doing a bit of research today to try and find out how close we are to setting a new club record for a winless run.
According to the Sky Sports (formerly Rothmans) book, our longest run without a LEAGUE win is 16, between February and May 1994.
But no amount of trawling through Brentford books and stats revealed our longest run without a win in ALL COMPETITONS. Anyone know?

'Brentford won on penalties' is fairly conclusive evidence and that is within the rules of that particular competition as far as I know.

Exactly. I know it wasn't convincing, but it was a win under the rules. If you want to talk about a winless run in all competitions, then you have to start from the game following Northampton in the Watching Paint Dry Cup.

no it's a way of deciding drawn games, much like the 'away goals rule'. I guess you'd count coin tossing victories if we had them too.

At the moment I'd accept tossing a coin before the 90 mins... a 50/50 chance is better than we seem to have on the pitch

We'd still not win. It's been well-documented that we're a side full of useless tossers.

or on the day after another defeat.

Therefore the day Leroy goes is more likely to be the day of another defeat, than the day of a win.

Theydont class penalty shootout as a win. Before pens it was a draw so no team won. Its a lottery.

They said same about Chelsea last year when they lost to Charlton on pens. They are still unbeaten at home for howevere many games

Bookies dont help to clear up the 'is a penalty shoot out win a win' question.

they pay out only at 90 mins so the results in extra time which could be seen as a clear win are not accepted by them...

In 1994 we ended up with 58 points at the end of the season regardless of that run of form. Who thinks we will end up with that amount if Leroy stays until the end of the season?

Given our squad, I wouldn't bet on 58 points even if we had Jose Mourinho in charge - think we'd need something along the lines of W11 D8 L10 from the remaining games, ie winning more than losing (could be 13/2/14, but that's less likely given our record on draws). I think a new manager might however make the difference between the 52-53 points that should be enough to stay up, and the 45 points or so that I think Leroy would deliver
