Losing Streak
Fear not ****ers, this isn't an attempt at jinxing our current form.
In the 15/16 season our "normal" form ran until December where we took 39 points from 24 league matches, a potential 72 points.
Then our poor run started at the beginning of Jan and lasted 13 league matches, from 37 points we took a mighty 7.
When that ended we played our last 9 remaining games of the season and took 22 points from 27 available.
We finished the season with 65 points, 9 points off of the play offs.
In the 16/17 season our "normal" form ran until the QPR game where we took 22 points from an available 45.
Our poor form lasted 12 games, from Fulham at home to Wigan away. We took 11 points from an available 36.
In our 19 games remaining we took a 30 points from an available 57 points.
We finished the season with 64 points, 16 points off of the play offs.
You may have noticed that this time last season, we had collected 22 points (the same as this season).
This time 2 seasons ago, we had collected 23 points.
If we didn't go through the poor runs of form, we'd most likely take about half of the points available from them. So in 15/16 we'd of taken an extra 11 points (enough to finish 6th), last season we'd of taken an extra 7 points.
All of the above isn't exactly news to us, but I reckon we're onto a winner this season. We've got depth that we didn't have this time last season, before our poor run in 15/16 we lost Tarkowski and Toumani and then had a new manager in Dean come in. Last season we were completely reliant on Scott Hogan until we sold him and brought in/back Jota, Canos and Jofeledpafahioazeen.
What we've got this season is a squad capable to compete with anyone from the off, on the pitch and off the bench. We're primed to finish strongly, something the club have shown over the last two seasons. I reckon we'll be able to finish 6th or 5th with this team and reach around 75 points-85 points.
