Who remembers our visit from the Italian teams during the Anglo Italian Cup in 92? I know he wasnt on his own (there was about 4 of them) but always remember an middle aged fella gesticulating (in a very stereotypical Italian style) at the top center of the Wendy stand and Bees fans in the New Road then copying his actions

Gabriel Marcotti has stated that a few Udinese fans turned up and were moved to another stand, so as to close one stand, He refused.

Sorry have I misunderstood the report then? Thought he was the only one who attended, albeit work induced reasoning.

The story I read (in the Metro) was that he is a wine merchant and just happened to be in Genoa on business so took the opportunity of turning up at the game to support his Udinese side.

Of course, if that ever happened here (which it wouldn't), the song would have to be -

"One fan, you've only got one fan...."

Really poor support though and it wasn't.even that long a distance

Worst I remember in recent years at GP was 34 (at least they all came and stayed for the whole match) Morecambe fans one Tuesday evening. In one of my previous work places there was an Orient fan who used to go home and away. He once took a half day off on a Tuesday to see them in the JPT (or whatever it was at the time) and was 1 of 24 Orient fans that night at the Vetch!

I remember in the early 70's when I was a student and had a lot of time on my hands going up to Doncaster on a Tuesday night on my own and seeing us win 3-0 (Jackie Graham scored two in the first five minutes). I did met up with about a dozen regulars though and stood with them by the tunnel at the old Belle Vue ground
