Luton Away

Can finally talk about the trip, didn't wanna jinx it.

Trains from St.Pancras off thetrainline. The faster trains are Midland Mainline, slower ones are Thameslink:

LONDON ST PANCRAS to LUTON:

Depart 12:33 12:48 13:00 13:03 13:18
Arrive 13:07 13:24 13:24 13:37 13:54

Luton to St.Pancras:

Depart 18:15 18:21 18:23 18:37 18:37
Arrive 19:05 18:52 19:00 19:07 19:14

Perhaps not everyones cup of tea with the times but do you really want to hang around that long in Luton?

It's a tenner odd return at the moment on the fast services on Midland Mainline, but on Thameslink it's £25 for four adults and £1 for up to four kids if booked 7 days in advance, gives you unlimited travel on Thameslink network for the day which is useful for people coming from Brighton as well.

See you all there!

Luton Away

everyone should hole up in St. Albans for pre match beers. nice little town with a couple of OK pubs.. Luton is a hell hole

see some of you there at 11am perhaps?

Luton Away

not a bad idea coatless... gonna have to work on another route tho, surely i don't have to go via st pancreas? still, not too bad i guess...

Luton Away

You could get the train to Richmond and then the North London Line to West Hampstead for the Thameslink to Luton. Assuming you live where your location says you do!

Luton pubs seem pretty cheap as well, one near the ground was £6.50 a pitcher last year which is decent.

Spot on, St Albans is nice, but Luton is ok if you stay near the Uni. It's when you get nearer the ground that it is a hell hole.

Luton Away

What date is the game, 1st or 8th, and any info on match-tickets yet?
I can't access the official site from work.

Luton Away

Far too much effort to go to snalbans for a drink, be better going to the Rocket in London a couple minutes walk from St.Pancras on the Euston Road where it's cheap (£2.35 stella) if you have one of those yellow cards.

Luton Away

I shall hop on at Cricklewood.

I may have a couple of pints beforehand with Luton supporting friends. Maybe in the Crown, Cricklewood before making the journey to Luton. Anyone in the Cricklewood, Kentish Town neck of the woods is welcome to join me. :D

Luton Away

alright CJC have fun in that nice new town, that hardly anyone has ever been to before they call London then

alas, the official site isn't up-to-date at the mo, so no info. Definitely the 8th tho

As BL has been very well behaved football wise this year, perhaps 2005 should open with some old style naughty days. A trip to Luton seems to provide a sound opportunity to kickstart the year :bound: :banghead:  :sorted:

But St Albans isn't in Luton

Still a hole though. Though I'm coming round to the idea of going to a pub near the station and in other areas along the route.

How about a very long pub crawl.

Top idea Cas, name the route and I'll be sure to be elsewhere. BL doesn't associate with football thugs :nono:

Last year Woodsie and I ended up drinking near the train station and the pubs were ok. There is also a Weatherspoons or something similar 5 minute walk from the station.

As someone said above, the nearer the ground you go, the worse it gets

St Albans isn't a hole (i don't think, not been myself, but i've heard positive things...)

What is our allocation, anyone know?

Luton Away

For anyone who is interested in starting off the day at the Crown in Cricklewood at 11:00-ish. We can catch the 13:38 to Luton, which gets in at 14:18. So that gives us a clear two and a bit hours pre-match, pre-train boozing in a nice pub. :bound:

Anyone up for it?

Luton Away

Tree, I think the away end holds about 2,000.

Luton Away

i think they said 1800 down the club on saturday - don't quote me tho!

got my tix

Luton Away

Probably a big segregation block of seating for the local derby rofl

Luton Away

:bound:

cup fever strikes!

Luton Away

Anyone know the approx cost of a walk-on fare from St. Pancras?

Luton Away

Is a midland mainline train worth the extra pound?

Luton Away

FA Cup, away to Luton, cant see too many bothering to be honest, so no need for you to attend on Saturday Mr Hill :sorted:
