Maradona lost the plot?

No space for Zanetti or Cambiasso but room for Jonas Guiterrez of Newcastle and 36 year old striker Martin Palermo (one of 6 strikers)

From an English point of view, this is a quality decision. Hasnt Guiterrez only scored one goal for Newcastle? lol

Maradona lost the plot?

Maradonna lost the plot 20 years ago, having him in charge of Argentina is the equivilant of us installing Gazza as England boss and letting him have a copy of the keys for the Soho Square drinks cabinet.

With a decent boss I could see them doing very well, but as it is I dont think they will get past the last 16,which I'm gutted about, obviously

will probably start for the Argies - he does a job for them on the right wing, works hard and lets the others get the glory

In answer to the original question, he hasn't lost the plot, he is a cheating Argie coke snorting bastard. :sorted:

Maradona lost the plot?

I've got a bad feeling that they will actually do well for some reason :(

The cheating coke snorting argie bastard appears more concerned about getting a couple of state of the art bidets installed in his accomodation block.

Personnaly, I'd give him bars on the windows, a blanket and a bucket to piss in.

FFS this Lib/con coallition is affecting me more than I thought. Before the general election, i wouldn't even have considered giving him a blanket.

for some reason lol well apart from the fact they have the worlds best player :D

It is a worry.

maradona is a joke as a manager. He is off his head and during qualification changed the squad and team around like a merry go round and they were quite frankly awful because of it.

He dropped the top goalscorer and brought in a 35 years old for his debut in a must win game..... absolutely staggering and incomprehensible.... but he only scored and they won!!!!!!!!!!!!

The worry is that they have some of the best players in the world so could do well despite him being there. The plus side is that he doesnt want to play messi because he is in danger of eclipsing him as the greatest argentian player ever and he wants to keep that title.

Can you imagine england putting an x-coke addict who has also been sent home from a from a world cup for taking banned drugs in charge of our team? I am surprised Fifa do not have some rule against it.

actually, they won their first 3, but then had only one win from the next 7. Maradona took over at that point (4 wins from 10 games), and they won 4, lost 4 in the last 8. they limped over the line, but they were doing worse before he arrived.

and they won in Germany at the end of last year, apparently settling upon their starting XI (finally  )

i like the Rooney-Messi comparison. Rooney has more chance of single-handedly dragging England to the World Cup than Messi Argentina, because Capello adds 10%, while Maradona probably reduces Argentina's effectiveness by a similar amount.

or more!

Messi can drift out of games if his team is not on top. He is very capable of doing something magical with his one touch in the same circumstances but unlike rooney he can not drag his team into a game from nowhere. Well, that what I think anyway:):)

Argentina coach Diego Maradona has promised to run naked in the centre of Buenos Aires if his team win the World Cup in South Africa. (The Times)

All that coke snorting has clearly rotted the fat cheating Argie bastards brain cell (or what is left of it).

Correction. Martin Palermo of Boca Juniors hadn't played for the Argentinean side for ten years before Madonna recalled him. And he scored the winner against Peru in the 92nd minute in an absolute torrential downpour in Buenos Aires, after Peru had equalised in the 90th minute (thus threatening Argentina's chances of even qualifying for the World Cup). Even then, the Peruvians hit the crossbar in the 93rd minute! Amazing game, but Argentina are in South Africa by sheer luck.

I think before his recall against Peru, Palermo had only got 7 caps. He's famous for missing three penalties against Colombia in one game at the 1999 Copa America in Paraguay.

That didn't help Northern Ireland even qualify when Georgie Best was at the peak of his ability and arguably the world's best at the time. But then again Georgie only used his feet and head!
